The Board reueived an application sbbmitted by Ralph T,.-Preston;_ Inc. on behalf of James Gray. for dredging and a bulkhead in front of his property at Nassau Point On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Johnson, ~t was RESOLVED that James Gray, 29 Seabro Avenue, North Amityville, New York, be granted permission to build a bulkhead 125 ft. in length with a 1.2 ft. return on the south end at his property on th~-Lagoon, off of Bridge Lane, Nassau Point~ Cutchogue, NeW York, and be it further RESOLVE~ that James Gray be granted permission t? dredge an area 30 ft. in ~&ng~h~ 125 ft. in width at Nass~u-P~int, in'front of~o~m~hti0ned~b~l~head~'~a~d place 400 ~u~'~ds~-of~i~i'behind the buikhead~ Fee $45~00. -~- ~ Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson',~ Mr. Horton, Mr. JohnsOn. "In order to improve the utilization of the much needed space at our Town Landings, a re~olution was recently passed by this Board revoki~ all preSent MoOring P~rmits and adopting certain changes in the issuance of new permits. Since our records indicate that you are the recipient of Permit , Mooring ~ , dated , we are writing to advise that effective January l, 1973 this permit will no longer be valid for the mooring of a boat. If you wish-to contznue your present mooring, it will be neeessary to file a new application prior to March 31, 1973. The new permits will be valid for one (1) year only, from date of issue, and must be renewed on an annual basis thereafter. A standard fee of $5.00 has also been adopted to cover the proce~szng of all applications made to the Board; whether it be for a dock, a mooring, or for any other purpose and this filing fee will be the only charge for a mooring permit other than in cases where multiple moorings are involved. "A new Application Form, a Location Map, and In~structions are enclosed for ~our convenience. If the Board's Secretary has not 43 received youu completed application or a communication regarding your intentions by-the due date of Mardh 3~ 1973,.it will.be assured that.you no longer have heed of a Permit from th~s~Board. BOARD OF TOWN TRUSTEES Town of Southold Main Road Southold, New York 11971 I/2 Rev/6/~2 INSTRUCTIONS PERTINENT TO THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION 1. All applicants should read and become familiar with the Town Ordir~ances which govern the use of WI=TLANDS or PUBLIC LANDS OF THE TOWN. Extracts and complete Ordinances are available from the Secretary of this Board or from the Town Clerk's Office. 2. A completed application will normally require o SINGLE COPY of each of the following items: (a~) An application FORM A/l, A/2, A/3, A/4, or A/5) with all IJhe questions answered. (b) An Area Map to show location of project. (supplied by Secretary). (c) A Licensed Engineer's Survey of the property involved. (d) A copy of the Contractor's Plans & Specifications. This may be supplied after approval of the application but a Permit will not be issued until the Secretary of this Board receives this item. (e) An applicant's diagram drawn to SCALE orthe reverse side of the Area Map, showing the size, shape, and overall dimensions of the structure or work as well as its relation to Ordinary High Water Mark. 3. A completed application must be filed with the Secretary of this Board, before it can be reviewed by the Board at the earliest meeting after its date of filing. 4. in complicated cases, or at the request ofthe Secretary, it may be necessary for the applicant to presen'~ the completed application in person in order to supply additional or more complete in- formation than. the Forms provide for. 5. After review by ?he Board, the applicant will be notified of the action taken, and if approvea, such notice will also include the amount of the Fee required for the issuance of the Permit. 6. The following schedule of charges will apply: (a) A minim,urn fee of $5.00 will be charged against all applications £*~-~-~- *Jr z :.'.,_. ~ This fee is payable at time of filing and is not returnable regardless of action taken. (:b) Fee for Mooring (Form A/l) -- at the rate of $1.00 per piling, stake, or other anchor- rng device. (c) Fee for Docks (Form A/2) at the rate of 10c per Sq. Ft. of dock surface offshore of Ordinary High Water Mark plus $1.00 per pili.ng used to secure a float or boat. (d) Fee for Bulkheads (Form A/3) at the rate of $1,00 per lineal foot of construction offshore of Ordinary High Water Mark. (e) Fee for Dredging/Filling (Form Al4) -- at the rate of 10c per cu. yd. based on the estimated maximum from computing the application. (f) Fees for Special Purposes (Form A/5') at a rate depending on the type of work. 7. The Permit Fee, made payable to the Board of Southold Town Trustees, must be paid either in person or by mail prior to the issuance of the Permit. IF PAID IN PERSON, THE PERMIT IS OB- TAINABLE AT THE TIME ~aAYMENT IS .MADE. 8. NO'flFICATION OF APPROVAL of an af~plication is NOT a PERMIT. 9. A Permit is usually issued for a period of construction to cover 12 mos., bur may be for a shorter or a longer period of time as the case may warrant. The Permit should be retained, however, for as long as the construction will be maintained, as a proof of original authorization. 10. ^ Permit may be extended by request to the Board, or it may be revoked by subsequent resolu- tion of the Board.
