Meeting of January 3, 1972
The Southold Town Trustees met at the .Tewn Cle~k~'~S 0ffice~ Main
Road, Southold, New York on Monday, January 3, 1972 at 7:30 P.M.
with the fQllowing present:
Alvah B. Goldsmith, Douqlas M. Robertson, George A~ .Simpson,
Philip GJ Eorton~, RUdolph JohnSon, Judith T. Boken, Secretary.
~r. Goldsmith, Mr. R0bertson and Mr. Simpson welcomed Mr. Horton
and Mr. Johnson as new members of the Southold Town Trustees.
On motion of Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Robertson~ it was
RESOLVED: Tha~ Mr. Alvah B. Goldsmith be re-elected chair~man
of th~ Southold Town Trustees.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Simpson, Mr. Robertson, Mr.
H~ton, Mr. Johnson.
0w· motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. simp~on~, it was
RESOLVED: That the minutes of December 6, 1971 be approved
as submitted.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith~ Mr. Simpson, Mr.
Robertson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Johnson.
The Board signed the following approved permits: ~691-(4 pilings
~289) Rudy K0ubek; ~92' (2 stakes ~290) Philip & Brigitte Proferes.
On motion of Mr. HD~n, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was
RESOLVED: That the Security. National Bank of Long Island, Southold,
New York{ be and hereby is designated as a depository of this
Board of Town Trustees, and the Chairman of this Board, Alvah B.
Goldsmith, and Secretary to this Board, Judith T...Boken~are
authorized to deposit any of the funds of this Board in said Bank,
and either of the following individuals ~ay sign, ~ake, draw,
accept or indorse on behalf, or in the name of this Beard, any
and a~ll.~chec~s ~or the payment of mone~,~o~ the~withdrawal of
fuhds~ ~lvah ~B.. Gol~smitt~, _J~dith T. Boken.
This agreemsnt shall be governed by'and'd0nstrued in accordance
with the laws of the State of New York.

The ~oard examined m~p~.~f Jockey Cre~k~area oppoSit~ Wells Avenue
and Hill Road, Southold. There i~ a proposal 'by George Ahlers to
dredge ~ channel to connect with ~he COunty cha~el, and place
the fill in Jockey Creek, thereby creating an island.
The entire Board agreed that they would not look favorably
upon an application 'for the"afOresaid dredging project.
The Board received app~ica~'~ons~i~fo~a wetland permit from
Antonia Lalane and Renee Lalane, with instructions from the
Town Clerk to prepare a written report of findings and
recommendations with respect to this application and submit
said ~eport to the $outhold Town Board within 20 days of

On motion of Mr. Robertson, sec6~ded~by Mr. JohnsOn~ it was
RESOLVED: Thatt~he Southold Town Trustees have examined
-wetlands applicati0~ ~1 of Renee and ~Ant0ni~"~alane for
~per'~i~si6~ to fill lowlandsl Dot 44, M~ttitnck-Est~tes.
The Town Trustees find that this application ~n no way inter-
.fere~siwith ~idal waters,' nor~Town owned properties tha't~might
be considered under the jurisd{ction of ~e~Town ~Trusteesl
We, therefore, waive objection and recommend the granting of
~his ~ pe~it..

The Board received application ~2 for a wetland permit from
Edward Abitg, Contractor, with instructions from the Town
Clerk to prepare a~written report of findings a~d recommendations
with respect to this application' and submit said report tO the
Southo~d Town Board within 20 days of receipt or-the application.
On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded'by Mr'~-Simpson, it was
RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Trustees have examined
wetlands application ~2 of Edward Abitz, Contractor, for
permission~to ~fitl ~owl~nds, Lots 40 and 41, Mattituck
Estates.
The Town Trustees find that this application~ in no way inter-
feres with tidal, waters, ~o~ Town. owned propertie~ that might
be consider~ed under the jurisdiction of'the To~n Trustees.
We, therefore, waive objection and reCOmmend thee granting of
th~s permit.

'Simpson~ Mr. Horton, Mr. Johnson.
Mr. G-oldsmith asked each member o~ the Board to review the
Application for Permit form and~Permit f6rm the Board of
Town Trustees a~_make sugg~'s:~i'ons f~o~ changes on these forms.
On motion of Mr. Hmmton, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Southold ~Town Trustees
will be held 7:30 P.M., Monday, Febru~ary 7, 1972 at the Town
Clerk Office, Main Road,:So~thold, New York.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmfth, Mr. Robertson, Mr.
Simpson, Mr. Johnson, Mr. HOrton. ~
