Minutes firom last meeting reviewed and corrected, approved as amended.

Speaker is Rev.. Dr. William Earl Thomas, whose extensive No was read by

Changes are requested before program sent to printer.
Refreshments and set up a_ 3:00. Members to contribute baked goods, odher finger
goods.
Letters sent to churches to announce event, read in are nnecting. Discussion of
how to follow up on letter, with call, or advocate personally.
Re. Heyward stressed the importance of personal contact and communication to
develop these relationships.
Peter Bel is in rehab at Peconic landing.
Cindy Smith asked what we are planning for Black History month.

Readers select poetry or essays or other material written by Alro-Americans.
LeRoy I Ieyliger spoke about the need for student involvement to help in our programs and
to engage: therm in our efforts to teach tolerance. For us to send letters to the various
organizations and School Districts, indicating our status as a Committee of the Southold
Town Board and requesting their help in providing names of possible student helpers. For
the students, it's an opportunity to help in flee etlbrt to make Southold Town a bias-free
town. It is also recognition of their community service efforts and helpful in their college
applications.
