Re: DECEMBER 2013 SUMMARY REPORT-SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR
Housing:
With Dan Sarnowski, Housing Advisory Commission, meeting with Habitat for
Humanity to discuss clearance of title, selection process of prospective
applicants and timeline. Meeting with the Town Board to further discuss the
waiving of fees associated with demolition and building of site. Developed
flyers to engage community participation. Contacted applicants on the
Housing Registry with addresses in Oysterponds school district.
With Heather Lanza and architect Bruce Kinlin, meeting with Town Board to
discuss rehabilitation of Katharine Sanger property for proposed affordable
apartments on Fishers Island, change of zone application, etc.
Meeting with homeowner regarding possible development of accessory
apartment to participate in Town's affordable housing rental program.
Meeting with applicant on Housing Registry to vet application and discuss
affordable housing opportunities.
Continue with assistance of resale of Cottage Way.
Youth Bureau:
Facilitated Saturday afternoon Youth Advisory Council holiday pizza party that
included community service projects for San Simeon residents that included
making holiday cards and baking cookies.
Continued meeting with Mattituck senior, Christian Montgomery, to supervise
independent study assignment for environmental initiatives.
Comprehensive Plan:
Two team meetings in discussion of Land Use chapter.
With Heather Lanza and Mark Terry, participated in Civic Plus webinar
"Increasing Public Participation with your Local Comprehensive Plan."
Economic Development:
Meeting with Economic Development Committee (EDC) and disseminated
minutes.
Community Development:
With Jeff Standish, discussion with Town Board regarding 2013 public service
funding for installation of portable emergency showers at Peconic Lane
Community Center and Recreation Center.
Notification of sub-recipients for proposed 2014 funding allocations.
Preparation and dissemination of project description forms for 2014 funding to
Suffolk County Community Development office.
Budget modification for reallocation of 2013 public service funds as one
organization has ceased operation.
Processed 2013 vouchers for administration and public service funding.
Further developed administrative summary report for accounting and billing of
CDBG administration funds from Suffolk County.
Executive Safety:
No report.
Other:
With Supervisor, attended East End Supervisors and Village Mayors meeting.
With Jeff Standish and Nancy Foote, meeting to plan upcoming Long Island
Deer Damage Management Program.
Developed Community Notices advertisement for Suffolk Times.
No constituent requests on Town website.
