Housing:
Finalized implementation of Senior Aging in Place Housing Options forum to
foster living independently with 8 speakers, approximate attendance 30.
Finalized vetting of new applicant for Town's affordable accessory apartment
program and reviewed revised lease.
With Dan Sarnowski of the Housing Advisory Commission, meeting with
Habitat for Humanity to discuss status of project (clearance of title),
coordinating the selection process of prospective applicants and timeline.
Meeting with the Community Land Trust of Southold at Peconic Landing.
Interview by Elizabeth Filatova of the Center for Popular Democracy
regarding the effectiveness of the Long Island Workforce Housing Act that
requires 10% of subdivisions (5 or more units) be affordable.
Continue with assistance of resale of Cottage Way.
Youth Bureau:
Facilitated Youth Bureau board meeting and disseminated minutes.
Facilitated Youth Advisory Council meeting that included Adopt a Platoon
letter writing to soldiers in Afghanistan.
Attended planning meeting for Community Building and Gang Awareness
Prevention conference. Developed press release and attended conference
on November 15th, approximate attendance 80.
Meeting of Association of New York Youth Bureau Long Island region in Glen
Cove.
Meeting with Mattituck senior, Christian Montgomery, to discuss independent
study assignment for America Recycles Day video.
Comprehensive Plan:
No report.
Economic Development:
Meeting with Economic Development Committee (EDC) and disseminated
minutes.
Coordinated meeting with EDC to discuss "new farming initiatives" and
prospective support of farmers markets for small farmers.
Meeting with Amy Burns re EDC meeting agenda preparation.
Meeting with Martha Tuthill to discuss development of Youth Job and
Internship to be sponsored by the Youth Bureau and EDC.
Community Development:
Attended Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) public hearing on
November 1gth. Disseminated press release.
Meeting with CDBG Reviewing Committee to discuss potential projects and
make recommendations to Town Board for 2014 funding allocations.
Disseminated minutes.
Meeting with Jeff Standish to discuss 2014 projects, budget and preliminary
design concepts for capital improvements to public facilities.
Developed administrative summary report for billing of CDBG administration
funds from Suffolk County.
Executive Safety:
With Lauren Standish, review of employee mandatory training status and
implementation of training via computer.
Other:
Responded to one constituent request on Town website (re speeding on
Eugenes Road.)
