Review of Code Section 280-45(C) ff )
At the Regular Meeting' on November 7, 2013, the Board continued discussing
Section 280-45(C){F} of the Town code which describes the maximum percentage of
floor area permitted for apartments in mixed use (principal) buildings in the Hamlet
Business Zone. We unammously, agreed to refer the matter to the Southold Town
Housing Advisory Committee, with out recommendation to consider approaching the
Town Board with a proposal to increase the maximum floor area in hamlet, business
centers throughout town to further promote affordable rental units in locations
supported by the Town's Comprehensive Plan.
2014 Required Annual Training
At both the Regular and Special Meetings in November. the Board developed a list of
topics that would be relevant to our work and of special interest to Board members
that could be offered by the Assistant Town Attorney and other in house experts in
fulfillment of the required annual training for next year. A proposal to the town
Board is forthcoming;
