APPLICATION FOR PERMIT
INSTRUCTIONS
A. This application to be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted to the Town Trustees in dup-
licate.
B. Plot plan showing location of lot and buildings on premises, relation to adjoining premises, public streets,
parks, etc., and giving detailed description of proposed layout of project must be drawn on diagram which is part of
this application.
C. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before the issuance of a permit.
D. Upon approval of this application, Town Trustees will issue a permit to applicant. Such permit shall be kept
on Uhe premises and available for inspection at all times.
E. Applicant shall notify the Board of Trustees aeon cot"npleton of the work covered by permit.
APPLICATION IS HEREBY MADE to the Board of Tinxstees of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York,
for the issuance of a permit pursuant to the laws, Ordinances and regulations governing construction of: docks,
piers, bulkheads, jettys and dredging in; under, and over the waters of Town of Southold. The applicant agrees
to comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations and conditions specified by said trustees, and to hold

Dear Sirs:
From time to time the Board has found it necessary to
deny an application for mooring a boat in Town Waters because
of congestion and overcrowding at some of the more desirable
public landings. Subsequent investigation has determined that
some of this inconvenience is because many of our permits, valid
until revoked by the Board, are currently issued to persons who
no longer have any need of a mooring or have even moved away from
the area without any notification to cancel their permit.
In order to improve the utilization of the much needed space
at our Town Landings, a resolution was recently passed by this
Board revoking all present Mooring Permits and adopting certain
changes in the issuance of new permits.
Since our records indicate that you are the recipient of 31 stakes
Permit # 199 Mooring dated Ju y 30. 1962 we are
writing to advise that effective January 1, 1973 this permit will
no longer be valid for the mooring of a boat. If you wish to
continue your present mooring, it will be necessary to file a new
application prior to March 31, 1973. The new permits will be valid
/ for one (1) year only, from date of issue, and must be renewed on
an annual basis thereafter. A standard fee of $5.00 has also been
adopted to cover the processing of all applications made to the
Board; whether it be for a dock, a mooring, or for any other
purpose and this filing fee will be the only charge for a mooring
permit other than in cases where multiple moorings are involved.
A new Application Form, a Location Map, and Instructions are
enclosed for your convenience. If the Board's Secretary has not
received your completed application or a communication regarding
your intentions by the due date of March 31, 1973, it will be
assured that you no longer have need of a Permit from this Board.
If you have any questions concerning this new procedure, our
Secretary at the Town Clerk's Office will be glad to oblige and
we thank you for your cooperation in this.

of Southold from any and all damages claims for damages or suits that may arise or occur
directly or indirectly as a result of any operation carried on under and pursuant to this per-
mit, and will at his own expense, defend any and all suits which may be brought by third
parties, as a result of any operation carried on pursuant to or in accordance with the terms
of this permit, and assume full liability with respect thereto to the complete exclusion
of said Board of Trustees and the Town of Southold.
