CALL TO ORDER
G. Goehringer called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. Treasurer, S. Maddaloni, was excused from this
meeting.
FIELD SCHEDULING WITH VARIOUS SPORTS GROUPS
G. Goehringer informed the public that this Special Meeting was for the purpose of setting up the field
schedules for the Fall sports season and further informed everyone that there was no Agreement with
the Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD (hereinafter "School") with respect to the Aldrich Lane fields. The
School's Athletic Director has been issuing permits for portions of the fields that belong to the School at
Aldrich lane.
D. Prokop informed everyone that in the past the School took the position that joint permitting could
not be done and now seem to be issuing such permits. D. Prokop further stated that in the past the
School issued the Park District a cease and desist letter regarding this matter. D. Prokop stated that
joint permitting is not allowed under Municipal Law. D. Prokop then read the most recent letter aloud
that we received from the School's counsel, Ingerman Smith.
G. Goehringer further informed everyone that we have had several meetings with the School's officials
and that we felt that we were close to an agreement. The Park District had requested that the School
participate more fully with maintenance of the fields. The School Superintendent is taking the position
that their fields will cost them approximately $15,000-$20,000 to maintain annually and that since they
only use the fields about 4 months per year they were not willing to maintain same for the entire year.
N. Deegan stated that years ago there was an Agreement in place until about 2003 and then there was
no Agreement for a while and then in approximately 2009, the School decided they wanted a more
formal Agreement. N. Deegan further stated that they estimated about a year ago the hours of
maintenance on those fields and that the cost was between $6,000 and $7,000 for the year, mowing the
fields twice per week.
Cliff Batuello from the Mattituck Soccer Club recalled a couple of times when the fields were half
mowed and they had to call the Park District and the Park District took care of it.

N. Deegan stated that he is all for sharing resources and hopes that somewhere down the road, we can
work this out with the School.
We discussed fencing the fields at the property lines, which was suggested by the School. It was agreed
that this could be costly. We further discussed various type fencing, cyclone, 5' slat-type, rubber posts
w/nets attached, etc. N. Deegan stated that he felt there was no need to fence the properties right
now. N. Deegan further stated that we can continue to mow our fields and see what happens. G.
Goehringer stated he would prefer something mare permanent in terms of fencing.
After we discussed the issues with the School, L. Tortora introduced Christine Elliot to the sports groups.
L. Tortora spoke with the sports group's representatives about the field scheduling.
