Speeding Concerns & "Speed Humps" Cox Lane Cutchogue
A Cox Lane resident seeks instaAation of "speed humps" to reduce speeding on that road. After
a discussion it was determined that NYS law does not permit those items on public roads due to
safety and liability concerns. Moreover, as NYS sets speed limits on all NYS roads, more
intensive traffic enforcement would likely provide a better result.
Traffic Light Intersection of Route 25 8~ Boisseau Avenue, Southold
It was determined that this is not a compelling issue as that location is not a 4-way intersection.
Moreover, due to No Parking signs on the north side of Route 25 and installed east and west of
Boisseau Avenue, there are adequate sight distances there.
Pedestrian Walkway 8~ Stop Sign Intersection of Marlene Lane & Peconic Bav Boulevard.
Mattituck
It was determined that adequate sight distances currently exist at that location and that
pedestrians should exercise due caution when crossing that intersection.
Parking Permits Baillie Beach Road & Harbor View Avenue, Mattituck
A verbal request sought placement of No Parking signs at that location. It was suggested that a
written petition from several local residents or property owners association be submitted to the
Town Board for its consideration. ~I
