Project Description LWRP Assessment Form Application for 3200 Cox Neck Road Matlituck NY The proposed project consists of the following components: 1.) Catwalk: Construct a 50' long x 4' wide Catwalk from the base of the upland bank to the edge of the creek. 2.) Floating Dock : Install a 6' x 20' floating dock and two 8" round end piles to hold the floating dock in place. The floating dock will set parallel with the creek. 3.) Ramp: Install a 26' long ramp to connect the catwalk and floating dock. 4.) Stairs: Construct a set of steps from the upland bank to the toot of the catwalk. Step dimensions: Two sets of 8 steps (12" tread and 9" raiser) connected by a 5'w x 8' long platform. Steps and platform to have a handrail from top to bottom, 36" high. Materials and Specifications: 1.) Catwalk (50'x4') & Rsmp (26') Depth at mean low water-0'. The wetland is completely out of water/exposed at mean low water the entire length of the proposed catwalk. A.) Piles: 6" x 16' rounds & (2) 8"x16' rounds at the seaward terminus of the catwalk. Piles to be installed 8' on center: B.) Stringers: 2"x 10" CCA C.) Caps: 2"x 10" CCA D.) Decking - Grated/open composite E.) HandraiL• 2" x 6" cca 36" high F J Ramp Decking: Grated/open composite or aluminum 2.) Floating Dock & End Piles: Depth at Mean Low Water: 5' A.) Floating dock: Untreated lumber & Styrofoam billets B.) End Piles: (2) 8" rounds 20'-25' CCA 3.) Stairs & Platform: A.) Posts: 4" x 4" CCA B.) Stringers: 2"x12" CCA C J Treads: 2"x 12" untreated lumber D.) Handrail: 2" x 4" untreated lumber Notes: To minimize the impact of construction on the wetlands the catwalk pules will be pumped into the Bound using a low pressure and low volume water pump. This will minimize the construction footprint, provide an accurately sized and directed in-ground receiving of the piles and dramatically minimize the loss of natural bottom. A silt fence will be installed along the seaward edge of the wetland to prevent loss of natural fill. All cutting of construction materials will take place upland and well away from the wetland. Description Cont'd At Mean Low Water the width of the creek at this location is 160' The catwalk ends at the water's edge at Mean Low Water and does not protrude out into the creek. The ramp will extend into the creek 26' with the offshore end placed in the center of the 6' x 20' floating dock. The proposed catwalk, ramp and floating dock will extend into the creek a total of 29' (26' + 3') which is slightly less than 1/5 the width of the creek at this ?ocation.
