Minutes & Discussion Notes from Meeting held
Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 7:00 p. m.

Commencement:
• The meeting began at 7:07 p.m. with five LPC members present.
Adoption of Meeting Minutes:
• Acceptance of LPC meeting minutes from June 11, 2013
HOLD - no voting quorum as Allan Connell and Maureen Cullinane were unable to vote as they were
not in attendance for the 6/11/13 LPC meeting.
Land Preservation Applications and Inquiries:
• STATUS OF PENDING PROJECTS AND INQUIRIES
Melissa Spiro, Land Preservation Coordinator presented status of pending projects and noted the
following:
Melissa is continuing to work with USDA-NRCS regarding subdivision waiver approval in order to
move MACARI and SIDOR projects forward.
• SCTM #1000-20.-3-6.2 (EDWARDS)
Update re: status
Melissa Spiro, John Sepenoski and Heather Amster (NYS DEC) had a field trip to the Edwards
property on June 19r" to inspect the Edwards property for potential preservation opportunity.
The Town would be interested preserving this parcel; however, due to limited funding available, a
bargain sale or purchasing partnership would be necessary in order for the Town to pursue
preservation options at this time.
Applications & Inquiries for Uses or Structures on Preserved Property:
• SCTM #100043-1.13 (SHOWALTER)
Review application and materials presented
Review of submitted plan and LPC discussion continued. LPC concerned with the intensity of use.
Allan Connell will contact local division of NRCS for additional information in regard to "sound
agricultural management practices" and report back to committee.
Addition to Agenda:
• SCTM #1000di5.-6-35 & 36; #1000-56.-1-1 (BAYBERRY ESTATES)
Inquiry re: preservation
Melissa Spiro received inquiry from landowner regarding preservation. LPC reviewed inquiry, but due
to limited funding sources available, the LPC does not recommend that the Town pursue preservation
of these parcels at this time.
Stewardship and Management:
• TRAIL MAINTENANCE STANDARDS (tentative agenda item)
Not discussed due to time constraints.
General Land Preservation Items:
• PECONIC BAY COMMUNITY PRESERVATION FUND ADVISORY OPINIONS BUREAU
Update re: June 24th meeting
Melissa Spiro gave update on matters brought before the CPF Advisory Opinions Bureau.
Next Regular Meeting:
• The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.
Allan Connell will be unable to attend this meeting.
Adjournment:
• The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m. by the five attending LPC members.
