Petrie 11 Fairview Avenue Great Neck,New York 11023 November 29, 2006 Mr. James F. King, President Board of Town Trustees Town of Southold Town Hall Southold, NY 1 1 971-0959 Dear Mr. King: Enclosed are the forms which we have filled out to the best our ability to enable us to get a permit to: "Repair our existing stairs to the beach which were built for our daughter's wedding, August 7, 1982, and were ruined by a week of virtually steady heavy rain in October 2005." It may help to know that ever since we built our house in 1973, we have worked continuously to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of our property. Before our house was built, we arranged for underground electric service to preserve the natural beauty of our property. We have regularly planted rugosa rose bushes, autumn olive, flowering locust trees and a special species of pine on our cliff-all designed specifically to halt erosion. We consistently drove in home made pilings at the base of the cliff which did, in fact, work. More greenery did thrive. In short, we and our family are enthusiastic and active naturalists. Sincerely, i. THE WEBSTER APARTMENTS 419 West 34th Street New York, N.Y. 10001 212-967-9000 Fax 212-268-8569 www.websterapartments.org
