SCHWAN SCTM#1000-77-1-9 J.M.O. Environmental Consulting on behalf of ROBERT J. & BONITA M. SCHWAN request a Wetland Permit to reconstruct in-place approximately 114.5' of concrete bulkhead utilizing vinyl sheathing and to backfill structure with approximately 10 cubic yards of clean sand to be trucked in from an upland source. Located: 1200 Oak Avenue, Southold. SCTM# 77-1-9 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of $outhold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with the LWRP provided that that the Board considers the following additional best management practices: To further Policy 5: Protect and Improve Water Quality in the Town of Southold and Policy 6; Protect and Restore the Quality and Function of the Town of Southold Ecosystem. If the action is approved, it is recommended that: a. Verify if trees landward of the bulkhead could be retained. b. Require a non-turf buffer planted with indiqenous ve.qetation andward of the bulkhead. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
