Proposed Wetland Permit for NEW SUFFOLK WATERFRONT FUND

Pat Mclntyre on behalf of the NEW SUFFOLK WATERFRONT FUND requests an Amendment to
Wetland Permit #7950 to increase the amount of bulkhead to be replaced to +395 linear feet and raised
2' above present level; increase the amount of backfill to 450 cubic yards; install ±270' of ±6' wide
walkway parallel to easterly bulkhead using untreated materials, and with walkway pilings installed 8'
o/c; and install temporary 4' to 6' high fencing to secure the storm eroded area along easterly bulkhead
for a total of approximately 162 linear feet. Located: 650 First Street, New Suffolk. SCTM# 117-8-18
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of
Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards.
Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this
department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed actions
are CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore CONSISTENT with the LWRP.
Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its
written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.

LWRP CONSISTENCY ASSESSMENT FORM
Pall applicants for perraits* including Town of Southold agen¢i~, shall complete this CC.ad* for
proposed actions that are subject to the Town of Southold Waterfront Consistency Review Law. Ilais
assessment is intended to supplement other information used by a Town of Southold agency in
making a determination of consistency. *Except minor exempt actions including Building Permits
and other ministerial permits not located within the Coastal Erosion Hazard.4rea.
Before answering the questions in Section C, the preparer of this form should review the exempt
· minor acllion list, policies and explanations of each policy contained in the Town of Southold Local
Wat~fiont Revitalization Program. A proposed action will be evalo~tod as to its significant
beneficial and adverse effects upon the coastal area (which includes all of Southold Town).
If any question in Section C on this form is answered "yes" or "no", then the proposed action will
affect the achievement of the LWRP policy standards and conditions contained in the consistency
review law. Thus, each answer must be explained in detail listing beth supporting and non-
suooortine facts. If an action cannot be certified as consistent with the LWRP policy standards and
conditions, it shall not be undertaken.
A copy of the LWRP is available in the following places: online at the Town of Southold's
website (southoldtown.northfork.net), the Board of Trustees Office, the Planning Department, all
local libraries and the Town Clerk's office.

The following amendments are due to storm damage.
1. Increase the number of linear feet of bulkhead to be repaired/replaced to +/- 395
feet.
a. increase the backfill, per contractor recommendation, from 125 to 450
cubic yards.
b. Raise +/- 395 feet of bulkhead 2 feet above present level (227 already
approved 11/14/12).
2. Install +/- 270 feet of walkway (+/~ 6 feet wide) landward/parallel to east bulkhead
from the NE end of property to the cement at the SE part of the northern section
(C to J on site plan).
a. Untreated lumber walkway on pilings 8' center for a total of +/- 33 pilings.

Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 275 of thc Town Code of the Town of Southold and in
accordance with thc Resolulion of the Board of Trustees adopted at the meeting held on November_~,_7~,
