Re:
Proposed Amendment of Wetland Permit for KAREN & RICHARD SEELIG
SCTM#1000-63-7-37
En-Consultants, Inc. on behalf of KAREN & RICHARD SEELIG request an Amendment to
Permit #6065 to authorize the removal of steps; construction of 3'X 33' inclined section of walk
from dock to lawn; and construction of (2) 4'X 4' steps to beach to maintain access along
shoreline
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 95, Waterfront Consistency Review of the
Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy
Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form
submitted to this department as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that
the proposed action is generally CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is
CONSISTENT with the LWRP provided that:
1. No CCA is used in the construction of the incline walk.
Pursuant to Chapter 95, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing
its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
Please contact me at (631) 765-1938 if you have any questions regarding the above.

Re: Karen and Richard Seelig~ 1-4738-03436/00001
Dear Mrs. Gerbino:
The captioned permit authorized the reconstruction of a previously existing dock, which as depicted in
the attached photographs was recently completed. Due to recent erosion of the shoreline and landward
encroachment of the surface waters of Jockey Creek, however, the steps at the landward end of the
dock are now often submerged.
Therefore, the applicants wish to have their permit modified to authorize the additional construction of
a +3' x +33' section of inclined walkway extending landward from the landward end of the existing
dock to the edge of existing lawn. None of this additional walkway would be constructed over wetland
vegetation. In order to maintain pedestrian access along the shoreline, a set of steps would also be
constructed on either side of the catwalk, all as depicted on the revised project plan last dated 17 April
2006, four (4) copies of which are attached hereto.
By copy of this letter and revised plans, I am requesting a similar modification to the approvals issued
by the other involved agencies.
Should you have any questions or require any additional information to process this request, please let
me know.

Re: Karen and Richard Seelig~ 1-4738-03436/00001
Dear Mrs. Gerbino:
At the behest of the Town of Southold Trustees, the length of the proposed dock has been shortened
via the reduction of the length of the proposed catwalk from 86 to 75 feet, as depicted on the revised
project plan prepared by En-Consultants, Inc., last dated 27 January 2005, (4) copies of which are
enclosed herewith.
The Trustees requested the shortening of the dock because while sufficient water depth is reached at
the revised location, there is no appreciable increase in water depth over the eleven feet that are being
eliminated. Specifically, at the revised location, both the landward and seaward sides of the proposed
float will rest in approximately three feet of water at low tide, whereas the longer dock would have
terminated in only a few more inches of water. Therefore, would you kindly substitute the attached
plans for those submitted with our application.
By copy of this letter and revised plans, I am similarly notifying the other involved agencies of this
change. Should you have any questions or require any additional information, please do not hesitate to
contact me directly at. your convenience.
