Box 1179 Southold, New York 11971-0959 Telephone (631) 765-1892 Fax (631) 765-6641 BOARD OF TOWN TRUSTEES TOWN OF SOUTHOLD TROPICAL STORM SANDY EMERGENCY APPLICATION Valid thru June 1, 2013 This application is event specific and only applies to damage caused by Hurricane Sandy within the Trustee jurisdiction. In addition, this application is limited to only previously Trustee permitted structures from 1991 to date and that have or are accompanied by detailed plans/drawings. All other structures, permitted or not, prior to 1991 do not qualify for this expedited permit process and will be subject to the normal appropriate permit application process. This is not a determination from any other department or agency. The following items are required: 1. Photographs of the area prior to the storm. 2. Photographs of the area shOwing the storm damage. 3. A copy of the latest survey of your property, if available. 4. A completed emergency application form. Upon issuance of Emergency Permit the following Best Management Practices must be followed: A 15 foot Non-Turf Buffer must be installed and subsequently maintained along the landward edge of the bulkhead after completion of repairs/reconstruction. Requests for exceptions to this requirement must be made in advance to the Trustees. No fill may be placed on any existing vegetation, as per Chapter 275 of the Town Code. ~ All construction/work must otherwise conform to the relevant provisions of the Town Code. Untreated lumber must be used on any stair treads, handrails and decking.
