HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/2013Department of Public Works Monthly Report Date: April 2013 Continue effort for Hurricane Sandy clean up at Gull Pond, Laurel Lake, Downs Farm, Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road Preserves and other Town facilities. · Town Properties - Town Hall - Prep beds, plant donated flowers and mulch all beds - Install additional electrical outlets in Tax Receiver's office REC - Spring clean up, plant flowers, mulch HRC - Spring clean up, plant flowers, mulch Landfill - Run network cable from fiber convertor to new timeclock Downs Farm -Tree trim up and clean up Animal Shelter - Clean out drains outside dog kennels - Addressed damaged flaps leading in and out of individual dog kennels - Researched and met with two companies for installation of solar panels on the outside kennel area Police Dept Repaired lock in squad room Installed sign out front and two signs along the fence Plumbing repairs to toilets Town Parks - Began fertilizing grass areas and continued with prep of sports fields - Assessed all playground equipment, repairs make to equipment - Repairs and upkeep for all picnic tables - Began seasonal mowing at all Town Parks - Removed tree at Laurel Lake Park - Concrete work installed at dugout project at Cochran Park - Trim timbers for ADA playground. - Turn on irrigation system Town wide - Installed sand and clay mix to Town Ballfields - Installed sand and bluestone blend at Klipp Park Town Beaches Spring prep of properties in anticipation of summer season Repaired lifeguard stands 67 steps Reconstructed beach access stairs Horton's Lighthouse Stairs Replaced entire storm damaged section of stairs for beach access New Suffolk Beach Dock and landing repair Bittner Property Trail assessment Bay to sound project Construct picnic tables Inlet Pond Beach clean up Install parking signs on and around Love Lane, Mattituck Generator maintenance Installed banners in the Village of Southold Fishers Island Repaired to dock damaged by Sand Fertilized properties Electric meter project in conjunction with Town Engineer
