RE: Mattituck Park District Veterans Park Beach
Dear Jim:
Pursuant to our recent conversation, the Mattituck Park District is requesting
permission from the Board of Trustees to complete the following items, caused by
Superstorm Sandy, so that we may open Vets Park Beach for the 2013 Summer
Season:
Install non-treated wood fence approximately 8' in width adjacent to the
easterly side of the cement bulkhead;
Repair crack in cement bulkhead so residents do not cut themselves;
Clean and rake beach;
Possibly remove existing old bulkhead and fence if allowed by the DEC,
the existing temporary fence from the parking lot will be placed around
the existing bulkhead area at the request of our insurance carrier;
Remove all debris above cement bulkhead;
Saw-cut old asphalt and place crushed concrete on existing parking lot
dirt, all work to be done landward of cement bulkhead (only in damaged
area); and
Place fence (chain link) along top of cement bulkhead at the request of
the Building Department.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to call me
at (631) 298-9176. Thank you.
