The structure is located within a FEMA VE Flood Zone (Coastal high-hazard areas). Eugene Burger on behalf of MARY DRUM requests a Wetland Permit for the reconstruction of damages caused by Hurricane Sandy; rebuild floor and southern wall in-kind and as per original layout. Located: 610 Park Avenue, Mattituck. SCTM~ 123-8-28.6 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is INCONSISTENT with LWRP Policies 4.1 and therefore, INCONSISTENT with the LWRP. 4. t Minimize losses of human life and structures from flooding and erosion hazards. A. Minimize potential loss and damage by locating development and structures away from flooding and erosion hazards Move existing development and structures as far away from flooding and erosion hazards as practica/. Maintaining existing development and structures in hazard areas may be warranted for: a. structures which functionally require a location on the coast or in coastal waters. b. water-dependent uses which cannot avoid exposure to hazards. c. sites in areas with extensive public investment, public infrastructure, or major public facilities. d. sites where relocation of an existing structure is not practical The proposed action does not meet any of the above criteria. The structure is located within a FEMA VE Flood Zone Coastal high-hazard areas defined - "an area of special flood hazard extending from offshore to the inland limit of ....any other area subject to high-velocity wave action from storms or seismic sources." The area is subject to high velocity wave action. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
