EETC Update: The February meeting was cancelled. The next meeting is scheduled for March 13. Neb will raise a concern about the direction of EETC at the March meeting. There has been very little input or direction from the Supervisom and Mayors, at whose behest the committee exists. Supervisor's Requests: Speed Limit on Jackson Street, New Suffolk - The supervisor has received a request from a Jackson Street resident that tile speed limit on said street be reduced. According to Jamie, the DOT considers posting nothing lower than 30mph except in front of schools, fire departments and areas with special needs. Ordinarily, the Commission does not respond to requests of individual citizens. Plannin Board Re uest: Brian reported, for Heather, that the Transportation Chapter of the Comprehensiv9 Plan will be delayed until December 2013 into February 2014. They are just finishing Natural Resources and will then take up Emergency and Disaster, which was pushed ahead in light of the recent storms. After that will come Land Use, Infrastructure, and Transportation. Brian reported that the Harbes issues have now been resolved and have Planning Board approval. Current Transportation Issues - Updates: Stop Sign at Baywater Avenue and Main Bayview Road in Santhold - A public hearing has been scheduled for March 12, 2013 at 7:32PM for input regarding changing the "Yield" sign currently in place to a "Stop" sign. The sign will be located on Baywater Avenue. Southold/Greenport Bus Shelters - Neb will email the SCDPW confmning the Commission's ag~-eement to the installation of the Southold Bus Shelter at the proposed Feather Hill location. He will also ask if the Cutehogue Lions can participate in the purchase of a shelter under the current contract. Resurfacing Rte 25 from CR 58 to Tuckers Lane - Neb received a response from Mark Bocamazo,PE, Regional Design Engineer of the NYS DOT regarding questions about the Thin Course Overlay planned for Rte 25. Neb had asked that the faded signage and cross walks be updated, that all stop signs on Town roads be checked and updated, and that dead trees on the State's right-of-way on Rte 25 be removed and replaced with new tree plantings. Mr. Bocamazo responded by saying the first two items would be done as necessary or within the project limit, but the tree removal and planting wilt be performed under a separate Landscape Requirements Contract when funding becomes available. He also said that the Project Manager for this Overlay Contract will be one Erik Koester (631) 952-7943. Orientation/Interpretive Signage Project - RBA - Phase II - The Town Board has passed a resolution authorizing the RBA Group to resume Phase ]I of the interpretive Signage Project. Whether~ the amount of money available, almost $90,000, is enough to complete installation of all the signs will depend on the bids. Old Business: None New Business: Marty is concerned about access to Strawberry Fields, with the increased use it is getting. There need to be better signs indicating a dedicated entrance/exit and it should have proper paving. Jamie suggested that there should be a meeting with Marry, Jeff Standish of DPW and himself to look at a map and figure out how best to address the whole issue. The County would be responsible for a driveway. Public Comments: None The next meeting is scheduled for 10 AM, Monday, March 25, 2013. Respectfully submitted, Margaret H. Brown
