Mr. Wilbur Baldwin, Mr. Henry Steinbrecker, Mr. Carson Russell
and Mr. HenryPraus appeared before the Board regarding a problem
of the channel closing at Fisherman's Beach. Mr. Baldwin expla%ned
that some years back a permit was issued for a buliahead, the bulk-
head had collapsed before completion and the silt filled inthe
channel. There had been a good flow of water before the advent
of the bulkhead. After much discussion, it was suggestedthat
the gentlemen contact Supervisor Martocchia to see if he can get
the County to dredge it when they are down here.
M~. Horton presented a change in the instruction sheet sent out
to applicants. He would like placed on the back Article I
Section 32-10 of the section of Boats, Wharves and Docks in the
Code of the Town of Southold along with the addresses and tele-
phone numbers of the Board of Town Trustees, Town Clefl~ Depart-
ment of Environmental Conservation and U. S. Army Corps of
Engineers, these representing the other government agencies that
may have jurisdiction and whose approval may be required for any
activity mentioned in Section 32-10. The Board was in agreement
that this should.be done.
Trustee Stoutenburgh brought up the matter of the proposed
informational folder presented by the North ForkEnvironmental
Council.
Motion was made by Trustee Haris, seconded by Trustee Hataier
and carried to send the folder with suggested changes on it back
to the SouthOld Town Board, said folder to state "Offered by"the
Town of Southold and prepared by the NOrth Fork Environmental
COuncil, Inc.". Trustee Nickles registered a negative vote
because he did not feel the Town of Southold should join with
any private organization in th~ diSsemination0~ material.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Town Trustees will
be held April' 3,' 1979. Therebeing no further ~business to'come
before the BOard, Trustee Hataier madeamotion, seconded by
