HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-02/15/1979329 A regular meeting of the Board of Southold To%~n Trustees was held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 1979 at the Town Hali, Main Road, Southold,'New York. Present were: President Philip G. Horton Trustee~Scott Harris Trustee ~A~aa Hataier Trustee jo~u Nickles Trustee Paul Stoutenburgh Dick Curtis, Suffolk Times Barbara Albertson, League of Women Voters ...... Trustee Hataier made a motion, seconded by Trustee Stoutenburgh and carried'to approve the minutes of ~the regular meeting of January 2, 19791 with-~an'.amendment to ~the f.ourth matter on page 326 to add "or dock". . . . ~ - ~ A letter was presented from SylVia Pafenyk, owner of the right-ofrway in question, which indicates that she has no objection to the erection of a dock and that no other party has any right, title or interest to the property in question. The letter is included in the file. On motion made by Trustee Nickles, seconded byTrustee Hataier, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of.W~llmam & Rita Hilton to place floating dock with access ramp in Long C~eek on right-of- way with deeded rights to do so. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh On motion made by Trustee Hataier, seconded by Trustee Harris, it was RESOLVED to approve the.application of Raymond W. Ptuschau to place 58 feet to bulkheading in front of private property of the applicant and dredge approximately 120 c~bic yards in front of fulkhead with the stipulation that this is not to be construed as an extension of the marina and will be for private use only. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles Stoutenburgh Mr. Pluschau was directed to file an application for a wetlands permit with the Southold To~a Board as per determination of the Office of the Building Inspector. 330 On motion made by Trustee Stoutenburgh, seconded by Trustee Hataier, it was - ~ RESOLVED to table~ the application of William S..Gardner to dredge and place dock at private property of the applicant at Wunneweta Pond. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh On motion made by Trustee Nickles, seconded%y:Trustee Harris, it was RESOLVED to table the application of James 'Neefus'to repair 'bUlkhead and dock at private 'property at Mattituck Creek. ~The secretary is to write a letter to Mr. Neefus indicating if he is repairing the bulkhead as is no permit would be necessary but to provide ~he office with a sketch so the trustees know he is conforming to the existing bulkhead° V0t~ of the Board: 'Ayes: Horton, Harris';'Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh ~ On motion made by .Trustee Hataier, seconded by Trustee Horton, ~.,- ~: ~ it wash ~ - . ~ RESOLVED to approve the'application place a mushroom ~chor and buoy .off ~ applicant at James Creek. Is it public access and also needs a i~-t-~-g~ of ~ermiss~n from the Goose Creek Association before a permit can be issued by the Trustees. 331 - The application of T~om~s A. Gilbert to place a mushroom anchor off public property at Horseshoe Cove is outside the jurisdiction o~ the Town Trustees. Trustee Stoutenburgh made a motion, seconded by Trustee Hataier and carried to renew the moorings due March 1st for one year pending receipt of $5.00 fee. In regard~to theques~ionnaire relative to the status of mariculture in the ~own of Southold which was referredto the Board of Town TrusteeS~by the Town Clerk, the secretary was directed to send the questiornaaire with a request for comments to Mr. John Plcok of the Shelter Island Oyster Company, Southold Town Baymen's Association, Orville Terry, Douglas Hardy and John Mulhall of the L; I. Oyster Farms. On motion made by Trustee Stoutenburgh, seconded by Trustee Hataier, it was RESOLVED to amend the approval of the application of KathrynRobedee to dredge 400 cubic yards rather than 700 cubic yards, as per revision submitted by Ms. Robedee. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Niokles, Stoutenburgh The Department of Public Works dredging schedule for Southold was reviewed by the Board. Trustee Stoutenburgh requested that the area at Cedar Beach not be dredged during May, June or July. The Board Of Trustees are in receipt of a letter from the Depart- ment of Public Works in which they propose reconstruction of existing bulkheading located at the Suffolk County Community College, Marine Science Technology Center, Cedar Beach, Town of Southold. The Board of Town Trustees has no objection to this work. There was discussion regarding the fact that the Army Corps of Engineers has not been issuing permits for fish traps since 1977. The Army Corps is to be contacted for its ruling and how the town could take this over if it is in the bay. 332 ~ ~.~ The Town Attorney has said that the 1966 permit of Matt-A-Mar is still valid.. Mr. Nowak is to be written as to what be'is doing because there are discrepancies in the Army Corps of Engineers and Dept. of Environmental Conservation applications. He should reapply and show exactly what he is going to do. The next meeting of the Board will be March 6, 1979. There being no further business to come before the Board, Trustee Harris made-a motion,' seconded by Trustee Nickles and Carried to adjourn the meeting.
