Dear Supervisor and Members of the Board:
Please be advised that Mr. Timothy Steele and Jeanne F. Steele
have constructed a dirt track with jumps, sand pit, and dirt mounds
for dirt bikes, mopeds and quads on their property which appears to
be located within the area of land subject to the Sale of Development
Rights . Attached are three photographs taken May 21, 2009 of the jumps
and track.
Several teens meet on the property on a regular basis and race
on this dirt track, recklessly cross the road, race passenger vehicles
on the common road, and drive their off road vehicles on Oregon Road. `
We have video tape of multiple dates between September 2008 through
May 2009 of the use of this track which we can produce at your
request .
A race track is not a permitted use in zoning and is located on
restricted agricultural land which is a violation of the agricultural
covenants for Development Rights sold property. Most importantly is
extremely dangerous to the children and the neighbors using the common
road, as well as drivers on Oregon Road. We respectfully request that
the Town and County stop this activity.
Attached is a CD-Rom from April 26, 2009 which clearly shows the
race track and children driving the vehicles . I have also provided
an aerial photograph from 2007 where I marked the approximate location
of the dirt track and a survey which shows the location of restricted
land.
