Re: special dumping privileges at landfill
It has come to the attention of several people that certain customers may be
afforded special treatment at the transfer center. Recently on May 19`h there
was a delivery of approximately 20,000lbs of potatoes from a local merchant
that was received. This merchant has no commercial permit or agricultural
dumping license, paid no fees for not having these and also dumped this load
for FREE! Then, they did not even compost this material but rather "land
filled" it in the back area immediately after which would seem rather
suspicious. Then your manager and foreman ran out to double check how it
was buried. Isn't land filling illegal there now? Are they supposed to be
burying things out back? Does the DEC know about this? And most
importantly, was this a favor done by a representative of the town? Is there
any oversight down there or do they just do whatever they want whenever as
always?
This needs to be addressed to the people of the town. You claim you have no
money yet this load would have been a nice chunk of change or is this a
mere pittance now? And why do other farmers have to pay for such loads? Is
this run to be fair to all or just a few. Some people in this town would like to
know! Please address this ASAP. We will know...
