HomeMy WebLinkAboutZehil, Charles & Laura RECEIVED MAR 3 0 2011 March 27, 2011 To whom it may concern, Southold Town Clerk I am writing to propose that a stop sign be placed at the intersection of Oaklawn Avenue and Jernick Lane in Southold. For the past several years we've noticed an increase in the number of cars traveling on Oaklawn Avenue. The increased traffic has led to a higher frequency of drivers traveling at unsafe speeds, posing a danger to local residents and children attending Southold Elementary school. Residents that live on the east side of the road also do not have a shoulder/sidewalk making it difficult to view oncoming traffic heading north on Oaklawn Avenue. There is one stop sign located on Oaklawn at the intersection of Jockey Creek lane and the next logical place heading North would be at lernick Lane. We believe that by putting a stop sign at the corner of Oaklawn Avenue and lernick Lane will help to control unsafe driving conditions. As local residents, we fully support this decision and after consideration we hope that the town will take action to install a stop sign at this intersection. Siycerely, Charles and Laura Zehil 765.8402 Pal
