Proposed Wetland Permit for ROCCO RESClNITI
SCTM#1000-111-14-18
Carl Govemale on behalf of ROCCO RESCINITI requests a Wetland Permit to remove remains of
existing bulkhead and construct a new 90 linear fcot bulkhead with one (1) 8' return and one (1) 18'
return; backfill with up to 100 cubic yards of clean fill; re-vegetate and subsequently maintain a 6' wide
area landward of proposed structure using DEC approved plantings. Located: 1220 Little Peconic Bay
Road, Cutchogue. SCTM# 111-14-18
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of
Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards.
Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this
department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the construction of 90'
of new bulkhead is INCONSISTENT with LWRP Policy 6.3 (below) and therefore, INCONSISTENT
with the LWRP.
6.3 Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands.
Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements of the Southold Town Board of
Trustees laws and regulations for all Andros Patent and other lands under their
jurisdiction.
Comply with Trustee regulations and recommendations as set forth in Trustee
permit conditions.
275-11 Construction and operation standards.
Shoreline structures.
(1) Bulkheads, retaining walls, revetments and gabions.
(h) New bulkheads in creeks and bays are prohibited, unless the operation
involves construction of a Iow-sill bulkhead.
The proposed 90' bulkhead is not desiqned as a Iow sill bulkhead. A Iow sill bulkhead is
required in creeks and bays.
Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its
Written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
