General Municipal Law, that sealed bids are sought and requested for the
purchase and delivery of Bedding Stone and Armor Stone for the stabilization
of Mill Road shoreline located on the westerly side of Goldsmiths Inlet in the
Town of Southold.
All Armor & Bedding Stone must be delivered to the project site located
in the Town of Southold. The project site is the parking lot at Goldsmiths Inlet,
located at the end of Mill Lane, ?econie, New York. All deliveries shall be
between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding
holidays, with prior notification to the Engineering Department (631-765-1560).
The sealed bids, together with a Non-Collusive Bid Certificate will be
received by the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold, at the Southold Town Hall,
P.O. Box 1179, 53095 Main Road, Southold, New York, until I0:00 AM,
Thursday, November 1, 2012, at which time they will be opened and read aloud in
public. The Town Board of the Town of Southold reserves the right to reject any
and all bids and waive any and ali informalities in any bid should it be deemed in
the best interest of the Town of Southold to do so.
All bids must be signed and sealed in envelopes plainly marked "Bid on
Stone Materials", and submitted to the Office of the Town Clerk. The bid price
shall not include any tax; federal, state, or local, from which the Town of

PROJECT DESCRIPTION & SPECIFICATION
Purchase & Delivery of Bedding Stone & Armor Stone to the Town of Southold.
Delivered To:
Goldsmiths Inlet Parking Lot, located on North End of Mill Lane, Peconic, New York 11958
This Project includes the supply and delivery of 8" to 12" bedding stone. Engineem
Estimate of required bedding stone material is between 200 and 400 Tons. Quantities may
vary and these project estimates noted herein are an approximate range from minimum to
maximum amounts of stone materials that may be ordered by the Town.
This Project includes the supply and delivery of 5 Ton Armor stone. Engineers Estimate of
required armor stone material is between 100 and 150 Tons. Quantities may vary and
these project estimates noted herein are an approximate range from minimum to maximum
amounts of stone materials that may be ordered by the Town.
Notes:
1. Stone Sizes, other than we ghts, refer to the average of the maximum and minimum
dimensions of a stone particle as estimated by the Engineer.
2. Materials shall contain less than 20 percent of stones with a ratio of maximum to
minimum dimension greater than three.
All Quantities of Stone Materials delivered to the site shall be coordinated with the Southold
Town Engineering Department prior to shipping. Quantities will be ordered in a manner to
prevent over crowding of the construction site in an effort to prevent unstable conditions.
The Contractor and his/her employees shall be granted access to the Project Site parking
lot for delivery of stone materials during the normal working hours of the Municipality. All
Site access shall be coordinated with the Town Engineering Department pdor to all
deliveries. [765-1560]. All stockpiled stone matedal must be left in a manner that is
considered stable. The Town of Southold will provide temporary barricades to control
access to all stockpiled materials.
The Town of Southold shall be responsible for all Permits and Approvals from all agencies
having control or jurisdiction over the work described herein.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION & SPECIFICATION
Purchase & Delivery of Bedding Stone & Armor Stone to the Town of Southold.
Delivered To:
Goldsmiths Inlet Parking Lot, located on North End of Mill Lane, Peconic, New York 11958
This Project includes the supply and delivery of 8" to 12" bedding stone. Engineers
Estimate of required bedding stone material is between 200 and 400 Tons. Quantities may
vary and these project estimates noted herein are an approximate range from minimum to
maximum amounts of stone materials that may be ordered by the Town.
This Project includes the supply and delivery of 5 Ton Armor stone. Engineers Estimate of
required armor stone material is between 100 and 150 Tons. Quantities may vary and
these project estimates noted herein are an approximate range from minimum to maximum
amounts of stone materials that may be ordered by the Town.
Notes:
1. Stone Sizes, other than weights, refer to the average of the maximum and minimum
dimensions of a stone particle as estimated by the Engineer.
2. Materials shall contain less than 20 percent of stones with a ratio of maximum to
minimum dimension greater than three.
All Quantities of Stone Materials delivered to the site shall be coordinated with the Southold
Town Engineering Department prior to shipping. Quantities will be ordered in a manner to
prevent over crowding of the construction site in an effort to prevent unstable conditions.
The Contractor and his/her employees shall be granted access to the Project Site parking
lot for delivery of stone materials during the normal working hours of the Municipality. All
Site access shall be coordinated with the Town Engineering Department prior to all
deliveries. [765-1560]. All stockpiled stone material must be left in a manner that is
considered stable. The Town of Southold will provide temporary barricades to control
access to all stockpiled materials.
The Town of Southold shall be responsible for all Permits and Approvals from all agencies
having control or jurisdiction over the work described herein.
