Adoption of Meeting Minutes: · Acceptance of LPC meetin9 minutes from October 16, HOLD until next meeting 2012 and November 13, 2012 Land Preservation Applications and Inquiries: · SCTM #1000-106-9-2.3 (COOPER AgPDD) Melissa Spiro distributed AgPDD hand-out. Review of Draft AgPDD Code and Easement. LPC asked Melissa to invite AgPDD applicant (Cooper) to next LPC meeting Applications & Inquiries for Uses or Structures on Preserved Property: · None Stewardship and Management: · MILL ROAD PRESERVE Discuss Kiosk Sign (Laura Klahre ~ 7pm) Laura Klahre, Land Management Specialist, presented the proposed sign for the kiosk at Mill Road Preserve. The followin9 comments were discussed: Maintainin9 the existin9 trail spur as a secondary entrance from Bay View Avenue, with appropriate signage posted on the road. This entrance is widely used by area residents. This will be maintained and appropriately signed as a secondary entrance and will not necessarily be shown on the kiosk sign. Makin9 the map smaller so the entire preserve boundary is visible on the kiosk sign Changing a segment of the shortcut trail to another existing segment of an unauthorized trail. This will make the shortcut trail easier to maintain in the future. On preserves with longer trail routes, the concept of marking the route distances of trail segments on the trail map. Adding the kiosk signs to the Town's website. ARSHAMOMAQUE POND PRESERVE Update re: boardwalk proposal (Laura Klahre) Laura Klahre, Land Management Specialist, conferred with Jeff Standish (DPW) about the width of the proposed boardwalk at Arshamomaque Pond Preserve, outlining LPC's concerns with mowers, liability issues, installation of bumpers/guard rails, and other issues. Al Krupski will discuss the boardwalk design further with Jeff. To allow for passage of heavier equipment to the preserve for trail maintenance, LPC members discussed alternate access over the right-of-way to the west that services two residential zones and a privately owned residential lot. Laura will work with DPW and Land Preservation to further this issue. General Land Preservation Items: · SUFFOLK COUNTY FARMLAND COMMITTEE NOVEMBER 20, 2012 MEETING Update Melissa Spiro gave update on matters discussed at the Suffolk County Farmland Committee meeting. Only two applications were received for annual review. County is revising Chapter 8 again and Stephen Searl (PLT) is working along with the County personnel to revise the chapter. Melissa will distribute County drafted revised Chapter 8 hand-out to LPC members. County will accept comments for review at the County's January 2013 meeting. Next Regular Meeting: · The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Annex Executive Board Room.
