So oMTown MINUTES Present were: Dick Ryan, Joe Krukowski, Ray Huntington, Bill Edwards, Ray Blum, Fred Lee, Melissa Spiro and Marian Sumner. Melissa Spiro discussed the 5 Acre Zoning Meeting that was held on April ~8th with the Committee. There were two sessions, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. She told the Committee what some of the speakers had to say in regard to the 5 acre zoning. Melissa tried to touch on some of the things that were questioned. Ray Huntington said that the Town Board was getting feed-back from the public at this informational meeting. Melissa will keep the Committee posted, as to what is happening. The Committee reviewed the Aurichio appraisal. The Committee felt that this property would be needed for parking for the Neuer-Sutermeister parcel. A motion was made by Ray Huntington and seconded by Joe Krt~kowski to make an offer to Mr. Aurichio. All were in favor. Melissa discussed the Friemann/Rienecker property in Cutchogue. Mr. Starkie spoke to them about selling the development rights on their property. There are approximately 17 acres involved. Melissa will contact them. Dick, Ray Huntington and Melissa looked at the lots owned by Reese when they visited the Manor Grove property. These lots are checkerboarded. Melissa will speak to Peter Schembri and send a letter to the Southold Shores Association. Manor Grove - 53-1-1.2 - Dick, Ray Huntington, Melissa and the appraiser met with Judge Tedeschi. The appraiser will appraise the entire property. Blum - 75-5-1 - will close by end of April or beginning of May. Marian Sumner of the Peconic Land Trust discussed the fallowing County projects with the Committee: Kortsolakis - 31-3-12 - 18.8 acres with one house; as acres farmland and remainder wooded. County offer accepted. Ghassemi - 31-1-1 - 33 acres - County offer under consideration. Sawicki - 51-3-43 - appraisal underway. Wickham - 110-1-1.1, 109-7-10.2, 102-6-20.1, 103-11-22 - appraisal underway. Ray Huntington suggested that the Committee should find different strategies and tactics in getting properties into the program. He felt that there were other avenues to explore. The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2001. With no further business to be conducted, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 ~.m. Respectfully submitted,
