Box 1179 Southold, New York 119'/1 Fax (516) 765-1823 Telephone (516) 765-1800 8outheJdl'ewn MINUTES Present were: Fred Lee, Ray Huntington, Ray Blum, Melissa Spiro and Brian Murphy. In Dick Ryan's absence, Fred lee chaired the meeting. Ray Bium attended the Farm Bureau meeting. Joe Gergela asked for the farmers' input on the 5 acre zoning. Steve Weir from Farm Credit gave a damaging talk on the 5 acre zoning. He said they would be lending less money on 5 acre zoning. The Farm Bureau will approach the Town Board and ask them to hold off on the 5 acre zoning. Doug Cooper said that the farmers are not interested in development and that most of them are in some kind of Ag program. Status of Applications: Doherty - 9-8-2 - Open Space purchase - Melissa spoke to Mr. Doherty. He hasnlt received the environmental report - this is still on hold. Cullinane - 19-1-1.2 - She enclosed a copy of the survey map with her letter to the LPC. In this letter she asked the Committee to reconsider the original offer. After some discussion, it was suggested to get an update on the appraisal. Since there wasn't a quorum, phone calls will be made to the other members of the Committee. Levin - 44-4-5, 45-1-9 - Melissa received a copy of the Levin survey. It will probably be at the Planning Office soon. Manor Grove - 53-1-1.2 - no new status. Aurichio - 56-4-16 - He brought in a signed endorsement letter to Melissa today. Melissa will call the appraiser, as the Committee felt it was not an accurate appraisal. She will also contact Mr. Aurichio about the encroach- ment being eliminated. -2- Starkie - 96-3-2 - Is moving along. Has received Planning Board sketch approval. McGunnigle - 106-6-14 - Have received ~ontl',a~! from applicant's attorney. Town Attorney is reviewing it. Melissa received 3 cost estimates on survey. John Ehlers - survey including 4 monuments $5500.00. Would take 7 business days. Joseph Ingegno - Survey $6600.00. Ready in 5 to 6 weeks. Anthony Abrusso - $10,750.00 for survey and monuments. Will take bout 4 weeks. Ray Blum said he would contact John Ehlers about time frame. Melissa will also contact him. John Sidor - 107-10-6 - Planning Board final hearing/final determination, may be conditional, is scheduled for 5/29/01. McFeeley - 125-1-14 - Melissa will speak to Town Board tomorrow in Executive Session. The Fort Corchaug Management Committee is being formed. Melissa and Dick received a letter asking them to be ex officio members. Melissa met with Jean Cochran, Valerie Scopaz and members of the Nature Conservancy today. They seem to be interested in doing work in the Town. Ray Huntington did an update on the application form. The Committee reviewed it, some corrections were made. Ray Huntington spoke with Barney Sidor, as he wants to sell his property. Ray will speak to Dick Ryan about this, when he returns. The next metting of the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 9:40 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Secretary
