HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/11/2012 Town of Southold Housing advisory commisSion MEETING MINUTES MEETING #75 October 11, 2012 Present: Beth Motschenbacher, Jeanne Kelly, Frederick Andrews, Eric Dantes, Michael Herbert, LeRoy Heyliger, Daniel Sarnowski, John Viterltti and Phillip Beltz. Excused: Rona Smith, John Vahey and Councilman Chris Talbot. Meetin9 began at 5:30 p.m. Approval of Minutes: The minutes of September 19, 2012 were approved. Resale of Cottaqes: Resale of two units: one unit expected to close before end of month, the contract for the other unit will not proceed and additional buyers will be identified. RFP Pre-Submission Conference and RFP Contacts: Two developers attended the pre- submission conference and several other potential developers have expressed an interest. Dan requested a list of organizations and individuals who received RFP notice or attended the meeting- this was provided by Phillip. Inclusionary Zonin,q Prospective Affordable Housin,q Project: Phillip reported that he and the Supervisor met with an applicant who is building a subdivision in Mattituck who also owns property in Cutchogue that he is considering for his affordable housing requirement. Supervisor suggested future meeting with HAC, possibly partnerships can be developed for this site from RFP. Proposed Community Preservation Fund Tax Exclusion: Review of concept paper submitted by Fred and John ¥. Land preservation is one of the most important goals for the Town, it will be very important to target incomes and home prices that complement the Town's affordable housing policies (e.g. area median income and $300,000 maximum for sales price.) Before next meeting, HAC should send Fred and John V. their proposed ceiling for income and sales price. They will further amend paper for review at the next meeting. Presentation by Costa Kokkinos, Habitat for Humanity: Review 2012 Goals and Objectives and Development of 2013: The 2012 goals and objectives were distributed for discussion at the next meeting. HALO Zones: The HALO zones adopted by the Town Board are a planning tool to ensure that greater density exists between Routes 25 and 48. Cliffside condominium complex is zoned resort residential with limited residency and water through Greenport sewers, ergo the additional density.
