Re:
Proposed Wetland Permit for LAZARUS ALEXANDROU, CONTRACT VENDEE
SCTM#1000-33-1-11
En-Consultants on behalf of LAZARUS ALEXANDROU, CONTRACT VENDEE requests a Wetland Permit to
construct a 4'X 92' timber stairway with associated wood landings and platforms to provide pedestrian access
down bluff to beach. Located: 2700 Sound Dr., Greenport. SCTM#33-1-11
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold
Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the
information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the
records available to me, it is my recommendation that the action is INCONSISTENT with the LWRP.
The lot was created in the Map of Section Four Eastern Shores at Greenport filed March 7, 1966 which
established a common private beach access at the end of Sound Drive for the benefits of the lot owners.
The beach access is 650' to the west of the subJect parcel and therefore access to the beach Is currently
available.
9. 5 Provide access and recreation that is compatible with natural resource values.
Provide appropriate access and associated recreational activity that will avoid potential adverse
impacts on natural resources. Use the following factors in determining the potential for adverse
environmental effects:
3. Sensitivity of the natural resoumes involved and the extent of the ecological benefits
associated with avoidance of the area.
Avoidance of further disturbance of this sensitive bluff ecosystem should be considered in context of the
existing access available to the lot owners.
Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written
determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
