Monthly Report

· On going trail maintenance at Laurel Lake, Downs Farm,
Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road
Preserves.
· Replaced the well cap at Tasker Park in an effort to remedy the
issues we have with bacteria in the system, as per the Suffolk County
Health Department.
· Cleaned up several derelict properties, as per Chapter 100 of the
Southold Town Code.
· Repaired several pieces of playground equipment at Tasker Park.
· Replaced several broken rails at Marratooka Lake (South).
· Repaired a door, entry window and cleaned flower beds at Town
Hall.
· Repaired both washing machines at the Animal Shelter.
· Fixed ventilation vents in the front lobby of the Police Department.
· Fixed power washer, washing machine, dryer, A/C at the Animal
Shelter.
· Removed an unauthorized clothing drop bin at the Cutchogue
Municipal Parking Lot.
· Installed Land Preservation signs on Manor Grove and a donated
parcel on Madison Street, Greenport.
· Removed swim lines and some garbage cans from swimming
beaches.
· Closed and winterized bathrooms at all Town beaches.
· Seeded and fertilized several sports fields.
· Prepared "Deer Truck" for the up-coming hunting season.
· Jeff Standish and I met with Supervisor Russell in reference to the
2013 Public Works Budget.
· Melissa Spiro and I met with Supervisor Russell in reference to the
2013 Land Preservation Budget, in reference to work done by DPW
on Land Preservation projects.
· Attended a meeting with the SCWA in reference to seeding and
grading the area disturbed by the SCWA in the installation of a
water main in the Laurel Lake Preserve. Work to be done in
October 2012.
· Attended a meeting in Hauppauge in reference to the 2013
Community Development Block Grant Program.
· Attended a Parks & Playground meeting to discuss the handicapped
playground at Tasker Parle
· Prepared a material bid for the roof replacement at the Southold
Highway Department.
· DPW staff, cub scouts and Laura Klahre, from the Land
Preservation Office planted 250 beach plum and bay berry shrubs at
Sound View Dunes Preserve, funded in full by a grant from
NYSDOS.
