LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTE MEETING
MONDAY, JULY 2, 2001 AT 7:30 P.M.
MINUTES
Present were:
Dick Ryan, Ray Huntington, Ray Blum, Joe Krukowski,
Reed Jarvis, Fred Lee, Bill Edwards, Metissa Spiro
Brian Murphy and Marian Sumner. Greg Yakaboski spoke
to the Committee.
The Committee received two new applications, one from Eugene Vanden
Bosch 84-4-7.1, s/s of Route 48, Cutchogue and the other from Steven
Dubner 84-1-8 & 84-4-6.1, n/s of Route 48, Cutchogue. There are
approximately 80 acres with limited development. The Peconic Land
Trust will help with this.
Marian Sumner reviewed the Peconic Land Trust's list of projects:
Bitner - 69-1-7.1 - Tim Caufield to meet with owner per Valerie Scopaz.
Deerkoski - 101-1-2.3 & 108-2-6 - Potential PDR - awaiting family meeting.
Wicks - 74-1-36 - Tim Caufield to meet with owner.
Cherepowich - 38-1-1.3 - Closing scheduled for as soon as possible.
Lettieri - 31-5-1.2 - the Town has ordered an appraisal. Tim Caufield is
working with Andrew Lettieri. There are 4 parcels involved. Mr. Lettieri
is gifting parcel #1 to the Peconic Land Trust. The PLT will purchase the
other three parcels and then sell them to the Town and County.
The Nature Conservancy contacted Melissa Spiro. They are interested in
getting a grant to purchase property in the Pipes Cove area. Melissa
will speak to the Town Board tomorrow.

Melissa reviewed the following with the Committee:
Manor Grove - 53-1-1.2 - there has been no contact from either the Town
o~ Judge Tedeschi.
Aurichio - 56-4-16 - Greg Yakaboski has spoken to Bill Price about the
encroachment.
Schreiber- 95-1-4 - Contract has been delivered to applicant's attorney.
Melissa received a letter from Mr. $chreiber today. He is looking for a
price adiustment. Melissa will contact Charles Cuddy and try to negotiate
the price.
McGunni~le - 106-6-14 - Ehlers is working on survey. Greg will contact
Mr. Costigan re: encroachment.
J & C Sidor - 107-10-6 - closed on June 25, 2001.
5 Acre Zonin~ Proposal -
The Committee met on June 26, 2001 to discuss the 5 acre zoning draft
legislation. A letter will be sent to Supervisor Cochran and the Town
Board giving them the Committee's recommendations.
~¥ith no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at
10:10 p.m.
