Maureen Cullinance spoke to the Committee. She is a contract vendee
on the Young farm in Orient. Dick asked that she bring in a survey
map. She is working with the Peconic Land Trust and will try to get the
information by the next meeting
Lou Caracciola spoke to the Committee. He is planning to purchase a
farm from the Sidor family, He has a nursery in Jamesport and is
planning to grow shrubs on this farm, A contract is written but not
signed, He is planning to move into the house on the property and
possibly set off one additional lot, Once he is in contract with the
Sidors, we can order an appraisal.
Greg Yakaboski gave the Committee an update on the different properties
we are in contract on. Shinn/Page - there is no contract as yet. It is
being held up because of the mortgage holder. He also spoke to the
Committee on the 2% transfer tax.
Melissa, Dick and Reed went on a field trip to the Latham property.
The Committee discussed Mr. Latham's request for a right of way over
SCTM #1000-018-06-014.9 in order to access his other parcel. It was
decided that such an approval action would constitute an alienation of the
existing town-owned development rights easement terms and was not
favored by the Committee. It was also suggested that he try to negotiate
a right of way over the easterly adjacent lands of John Tuthill. Dick will
write a letter to Mr. Latham.
-2-
Blue Horizon Property - most of the property is wooded. There is a
covenant on the property that only one house could be built on it. This
parcel would be open space. Dick will write back.
Goerler application - next to Glover on both sides of Cox Lane. Dick will
write a letter back and invite Mr. Goerler to our ne×t meeting.
Dick received a fee proposal from Pat Given. It was $2000.00 for Cullinane
and $1800.00 on Caracciola. Dick will describe the areas to him.
Ray went over the drafted brochure. The Committee will edit Ray's
brochure for the next meeting.
Schreiber property - he has accepted the price of $14,500.00 per acre.
We still have to have a survey.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 28, 2000 at 7:30 p.m.
With no further business to be conducted, the meeting was adjourned at
10:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
