As you know, Permit 36860 replaced a permit (#10051) that was issued in 1979 to cover the construction of an in-ground swimming pool and a cabana, while Permit 36861 replaced two old permits (#10052 was issued in 1979 to cover bedroom additions and #13490 was issued in 1984 to cover a bathroom addition). Please note that when inspectors Gary Fish and Roger Richert visited the subject property on February 15th, 2012, all of the new fire/smoke/carbon monoxide alarms had been installed, and all of the items that Gary Fish said that needed to be done on his December 2011 visit had been completed. Mr. Fish indicated in February that I needed to install hand railings on either side of exterior steps leading from the dining room to the lawn outside of the pool area, and that task was completed two weeks ago. On February 21, 2012, the Building Department sent me a checklist of items needed to be submitted to you for me to receive the Certificate of Occupancy: 1) electrical underwriters certificate, 2) final health department approval, and 3) plumber's solder certificate. I understand that Jason Zelek of Connected Systems has submitted everything that you need from the electrical perspective from item #1. 1 discussed with Mike Verity item #2 and I am to tell you that I never installed a new septic system pursuant to the health department permit that was issued in December 2007 because I cancelled plans to tear down the buildings. Therefore, no changes have been made to the septic system since 1979. I do not believe that item #3 is necessary since (with the exception of one bathroom) no plumbing was changed after April 1, 1984. As you know, Permit 36860 replaced a permit (#10051) that was issued in 1979 to cover the construction of an in-ground swimming pool and a cabana, while Permit 36861 replaced two old permits (#10052 was issued in 1979 to cover bedroom additions and #13490 was issued in 1984 to cover a bathroom addition). On February 21, 2012, the Building Department sent me a checklist of items needed to be submitted to you for me to receive the Certificate of Occupancy, including a plumber's solder certificate for the 1984 bathroom. Since I have no way of finding out who the plumber was for the 1984 bathroom, your office told me to have the solder tested for lead content instead. Therefore, enclosed is the report that Harry Goldman Water Testing of Mattituck, NY sent me that shows that the solder meets the lead content threshold. They tested the cold water pipe in the crawl space underneath the 1984 bathroom that supplies the 1984 bathroom (the pipe is also above a utility sink in the basement).
