HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/2012September 04, 2012 To: Town Board Fr: Phillip Beltz Re: AUGUST 2012 SUMMARY REPORT-SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR Housinq: · Facilitated Housing Advisory Commission (HAC) meeting and disseminated minutes. · Continue to assist with resale of two units at the Cottages at Mattituck. · Preparation of RFP for affordable apartments, shared with HAC as well as a discussion with Town Board. · Meeting with Town Board to discuss setting 2012 income, rental, inclusionary zoning buyout and sanitary flow credit benchmarks. Youth Bureau: · Exit interviews with students who participated in Suffolk County Department of Labor "Summer Works" program. · Finalized 2012 Youth Bureau narrative for the NYS Office for Children and Family Services. · Meetings with two Youth Bureau board members in discussion of developing survey for youth and implementing environmental initiatives at schools Loss Control Proqram and Executive Safety Committee: · Coordinated seven staff trainings for annual Workplace Violence Prevention and Bloodborne Pathogens with participation of National Employee Assistance Program and Wright Risk Management. · With Jen Andaloro, meeting to review employee safety survey responses and preparation of agenda for Executive Safety Committee meeting. · Facilitated August 21st Executive Safety Committee meeting. · With Supervisor, meeting with HCC Public Risk Control representative. Provided him with tour of Town facilities and beaches where public have the greatest exposure to liability. Community Development: · Meeting with Jim McMahon to prepare preliminary 2013 Community Development budget. · Meeting with Tanya Palmore and Jim McMahon to review timeliness of expenditures for North Fork Housing Alliance funding. Comprehensive Plan: · Two team meetings, one for review of the draft chapter for Land Preservation with follow-up discussion with Town Board. Additional meeting to further edit chapter. Economic Development: · Meeting with John Stype and partner of a local business to discuss financing and funding opportunities. · Prepared agenda and disseminated minutes of the August '16th meeting of the Economic Development Committee (EDC.) · With Supervisor, attended EDC "listening tour" meeting with members of the real estate community at Peconic Lane Community Center, ten participants. · With two EDC members, sponsored "listening tour" at Floyd Memorial Library however no one attended. Other: · Facilitated discussion with Fishers Island residents regarding Comprehensive Plan Housing Chapter and update of Economic Development Committee initiatives with John Stype. · Multiple meetings of the website development committee to finalize content of Civic Plus website including meeting with Town Board to review preliminary website. · With Supervisor, attended East End Supervisors and Village Mayors meeting. · Attended Parks, Beaches and Recreation meeting.
