T~B CHAIRMAN: I th%nk the chair will close this part of the
hearing and there is another matter that the Board would like 4o dis-
cuss with you an~ d~eantt pertain to this hearing as such, It does
pertain ~o the highway specifications for this subdivision, _The
highway superin~n~ent is not happy with highways that do n~ meet
the present highway specificatlons. 'The Plannin~Board has not had
a ohan~e to meet with the highway superintendent.. All highways will
have ~o meet present highway specifications. There may be some
exception for subdivisions in process of being, apgrovea- On this one
we would have to check back and see when prelim~ approval was

wan~ ~o ge~ caught between the developer, and the Town Board, and
· he H~/~hway superintendent. So tba~ if we are goin~ to_ accept these
them all. As far as I am concerned, I don~t wa~t to be in the position
of the T~mrn Board say'~zn9 ~s is fine_and we approve another one a month
later and they won't accept it,

No action was taken o~ Eastern Shores Section V, at th~s time.
~r. Joseph Stern, Or, lent, appeared b~fore the PIa~ning Board
for a preliminary discus_sion for a m/nor s~bdiu~sion, The right
c~ way would be 3B feet wide and this would be maintained by an
association in the future.' He was advised that the Planning Board
requires 50 foot roads even in minor subdivisions, It was pointed
out that the roads leading to this minor subdivision were only
33 feet, however the new minor subdivision should have 5~ foot roads
in the e~ent they should ever want to dedicate to the Town of Scuthold.
A lenghty discussion was held on the width of tberoads, in this
subdivision. The Chairman stated they are most concern with making
the roads 50 feet uride where it could connect in the future. The
Planning Board advised Mr. Stern to have a map drawn showingthe
suggested, changes and submit it to the Board,
Mr. Oulnn appeared be~o~e ~e-Plauning Boszd ia reference to the
Lowe property, ~w Suffolk, He wishes to break up the property, The
interior lots need access. Ail lots have more than ~O~000 square feet,
Mr. Quinn was advised to have a survey made sho$ittng what he wishes
to do and submit it to the Planning Board with the required fees
Mr. An~e Petrucci appeared, before the Planni~ Board with
plan for' a subdivisin located on Sound Avenue, Southeld. Property
coated near the old Labor Camp property on Sound Avenue. There
is approximately 8 acres of l~-nd and the Subdivision plan showed
14 lots with a 100 foot tuxnazound,
On motion by Mr. Unkelbach, seconded by Mr . Wic~ham, i~ was
RESOLVED that tentative approval be given to the subdivision
p lan of Angelo Pe~ruoci, for a subdivision iocatedon ~ Sound
Avenue, Southold.
Vote of the Board: Ayes.-- Mr. Wickham~ Mr. Moisa, Mr. Unk~baok,
Mr. Grebe, Mr~ Cosu%e.
A plan for a subdi~ s~ to ~ know~a as Jackson's L~_.ndin9 was
submitted. This included approximately 17 1/2 acres. It was qnestioned
as to whether or not lots 17 and 15 could be excluded from the subdivision
and sol~ separately, There is a house and barn on these lots, It was
determimed that the residence c cold be sold by me,es and bounds.

from the subdivision but that is ali, Access to the waterfront was
discussed. It was pointed cut that you can not have a change in
~irectimn of. the ro~d without changing the name. Park and playground
area was discussed= It was determined that one lot was not
~ark and playground area ~o take care of 27 1OtSe
Some discussion was held-o~ the Duvall property lo~ated at
Orient, and George Ahiers property in Southo!d for dredging.
It was TJae opinion of the Chairman that a committee from the Planning
B~ard should disc uss this proposition with ~r, Ahlers.
Mr. John Wickham presented an application to dradge a fresh water
drain on his diked property. This is to take care of the salt l~de~
s$orm waters that drain off onto his propertye He sta ted there has been
some crop loss as a result of this salt. This d~ed~ing is for agricultural
purposes and not subdivision. This would be :2 1/2 feet deep. It
was ~ete~%ned that all man-made car~ls come underthe juris~[iction of
the Plannin~ Board.
On motion by Y~,, Grebe, seconded by ~r.~ke!bach, it was
RESOLVED that the Southold Town-Plannin9 Board accept the
petition a~.d_approve for John' Wickh= to dredge and deepen fresh
water dra~n to drain highway salt laden waters off the land as
recommended by the Suffolk County Soil and Water Conservation
in letter ~ated 3/8/68 and as submitted to the Southol~ Town Board
of Trustees.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Moisa~ Mr, Grebe~ Hz, Unkelbach,
Coyle.
Mr. Wickham abstained from any participation in this action.
A revised plan for Shorecrest was presented to the Board. The
revised map was dated September 6= 1968, There was no objectic~.to
the reVise~ plan. The highways mus~ be approved bF the Superintend~t
of highways o
On motion by M~. Grebe, seconded bF Mr. Coyle= it was
RESOLVED that t~ntative appoval be ~i~en to the subdivision to
be known as~Shorecrest~ owned ~nd developed by Valentine Ruch,
located at So~thold, New York~

On motion by Fire Moisa, seconded by Hr, Unkelbach, it was
RESOLVED that final approval be given to the minor subdivision
map of_Ernest G, Radfor~, map dated August 7~ 1968,

An application was received to dredge ~Dd bulkhead in Pipes
Neck byWestburyBquipement Co. The Plan~ing Board disapproves the
application. The Planning Boar~ is not prepared'to approve any
man made canals or dredging, without very careful study and wi~hou~
recommendation from the soil a~%dwa%er conservationist.
