as inputs such as outfalJ pipes. There will be approximately :~5 stations.
Task 2 - Conduct Coliform Enumeration. Collect samples to be used for coliform enumeration. Sampling
will be conducted approximately 10 times, looking at variables such as seasonality and impact of rain
events. There will be approximately 150 samples collected and enumerated. The laboratory will also
determine nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations for the collected samples.
Progress [or the period 04~0:~-2012 to 06-30~20~-2: Protocols regarding sampling were created, Lab
equipment was calibrated and consumable reagents were purchased in anticipation of rurming samples~
Sampled is scheduled to begin in July.
Task 3 - Conduct DNA source tracking. Based on coliform enumeration results, determine suitable
places to collect samples for DNA source tracking. Approximately 12 samples, to be selected by the
Town of Southold, will be run through the DNA library.
Progress for the period 04~0:~-20:[2 to 06~30~20:~2: This task has not been started yet, DNA source
tracking will be conduc[ed when all sampling has been completed~
