PLANNI Ne BOARD MEMBI:RS John V/iclcharn, Ohnirmnn Henry Moisa Alfred Grebe ^rchlb~sld Youn~l ~Y/illia m Uni~elb~oh MINUTES SOUTHOLD TOWN'PLANNING BOARD AUgUSt 17, 1964, A regular meeting of the Southold Town Planning Board was held 7:30 P.M., Monday, August 17, 1964, at the Town Office, Main Road, Southold, New York. There were present: Messrs. John"Wickham, Chairman, Henry Moisa, Alfred Grebe, Archibald Young, and~William unkelbach. Also present: Mr. Otto Van TuyL;%Consultant, and Mr. Howard Terry, Building Inspector. Mr. Reese, "Harbor'Lights Estates" appeared before the Board to discuss proposed subdivision. Mr. Van Tuyl presented the map of the subdivision to the Board. The Board viewed the map and discussed it. The Board has to obtain the approval from the Health Department~on the cesspools and depth of the wells and also the approval o,f the Superten~ent of Highways on the road. Mr. Lawrence Tuthill will have to make an estimate on the roads so a proformance bond can be set. Southold Town PlatoOning Board -2- August 17, 1964 On motion by Mr. Grebe, seconded by Mr. Moisa, it Was RESOLVED that the Planning Board set 7:30 P.M., Monday, September 21, 1964, Town Office, Main Road, Southold, New York, as time and Place for hearing on the question of approval of the ~ollowing plat: 1. Plat of property owned by Harold Reese, entitled "Harbor Lights Estates", at Southold, consisting of a parcel of land 41 acres, situated at-Southold, in the Town of'Southold, Suffolk County, New York, and bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a monument on the northerly line of North Bayview Road, N. 72° 58' 10" W.-405.00 feet from a monument at the south- easterly corner of land of Frederick and Harold~Reese and the southwesterly corns~ of "Paradise Shores"; from Said point of beginning running along said northerly line of North Bayvi~w-Road, N. 72Q 58~ 10" W.-50.00 feet; thence along other land of said Frederick and Harold Reese, seven courses as follows:- (1) N~ 17° 01' 50" W.-748.88 feet; thence (2) N.' 58° 23' 10" E.-38b.86 feet; thence (3) N. 19° 13' 20" E.-696.55 feet; thence (4) N, 64° 05' 10" W.-1091.17 feet; thence (5) N. 25' 58' 30" E.-90.40'feet; thence (6) N. 25° 54' 50" E.-129,60 feet; thence (7) N~ 64~ 05' 10" W.-175.20 feet; thence partly along land or,william~ Demm, N. 27 34' 20" E.-383.69 feet; thence along land of F.H.~ Sayre and a ditch to a point which is N. 89~ 11' 50" E.-181.39 feet from the last described point; thence along land of F.H. The approval of the Health Department. 2. The clearance of the highways from private road to .show means of access to the existing public road. 3. The highways are to be paved and covered by a pro~orm~e bomd. Southold Town Plk~ing Board -3- Au~t 17, 1964 Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Wickham, Mr. Moisa, Mr. Grebe, Mr. Young, Mr. UnkelbaCh. Mr. Young gave a report on the public hearing held by Southampton Town on July 28, 1~64. He'stated that most of the people were in favor of keeping garden apartments with only 4 units in them. There was only one man present at the hearing who felt there should be 15 families to an acre. Mr. Howard Terry read R~iverhead Town new regulations on swimming pools, both public and private. Riverhead Town also put new definitions in their ordinance and a new section on the regulations for signs. The Board felt that~Southold Town should have some regu~tions on swimming pools. On motion by Mr. Moisa, seconded by Mr. Young, it was RESOLVED that theminutes of the Southold Town Planning Board dated July 27, 1964, be approved as submitt'ed. Vote of the Board: Ayes:-Mr.Wickham, Mr. Moisa, Mr. Grebe, Mr. Young, and Mr. unkelbach. Subsequently'Shelter Island Planning Board attended the meeting. There was an interesting and productive exchange of ideas. The next-meeting of the'Southold Town Planning Board will be held 7:30 P.M., Monday,.
