The general feeling of those in opposition was that the
change to "M" would permit-Ruth Wells to do anything specified
in the "M" Multiple Residence Zone~ including hotels, motels~
boarding and tourist houses and tourist cottages. Mr. k~app
explained that Mrs.~ Wells was sincere in her proposal to erect
garden type apartments.
After eveyone had expressed themselves the Planning bard
closed that portion of the meeting for further deliberation.
On motion of Mr. Grebe, seconded by Mr. unkelbach, it was
RESOLVED that the P1Rnning Board noes not recommend to the
Town Board the change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural
District to "M" MultiPle<Residence~District on the property of Ruth
F.~ Wells as described heretofore.
The Planning Board unanimously feels this change of zone would
be spot zoning and would devaluate the existing single family
residences in the area in view of the fact-the "M" ~u~%~ple Residence
Zone as written in the Building-Zone Ordinance leaves too much
latitude.to the o~ner of "M" zone property.
it is further pointed out that the Planning Board does not
feel this "MY Multiple Residence~District would .lend itself to the
development of the area in which it is requested.
