SOUTHOLD TOWN-PLANNING BOARD

A regular meeting of the Southold Town Planning Board was
held 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 16, 1963 , at the Town Office,
Main Road, Southold, New York;
There were present: Messrs. John Wickham, Chairman, Henry
Moisa, Alfred Grebe, Archibald Young and William Un~elbach.
Also present: Mr. Otto W. Van Tuyl, Consultant and Mr.
Howard Terry, Building Inspector.
On motion of Mr. Moisa, seconded by-Mr. Young, it was
RESOLVED that the minutes of' June 11, 1963 be approved as
submitted.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr.. Wi~k~am, Mr. Moisa, Mr.
Grebe, Mr. Young, and Mr. unkelbach.

On motion of Mr. Grebe, seconded by Mr. Young, it was
RESOLVED that the Planning Board set 7:30 P.M., Wednesday,
August 14, 1963, Town Office~ Main Road, Southold, New York as
time and place for their next regular meeting.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Wickham~ Mr. Moisa, Mr. Grebe,
Mr. Young, and Mr. Unkelbach.
Mr. Harold Reese appeared before the Board to present his
final map of his proposed subdivision to be known as "Southold
Shores at~Arshamomaque" containing 53 lots, and located on the
south side of Main (State) Road, Greenport, New York. The
approval of the Suffolk County HealthlDepartmenthas been secured
and is shown on the map and a letterappears in the file from the
$outhold Town Superintendent of Highways indicating that he has
inspected the road layout and found them to be suitable for
reasonable access to the subdivision.
On motion of'Mr. Moisa, seconded by Mr. Grebe, it was
RESOLVED that the Planning Board set 7:30 P.M.~ Wednesday,
August 14, 1963, Town Office, Main Road, Southold, New York as
time and place for hearing upon the question of approval of the
following plat:
Plat of property owned by Harold and FrederickReese, entitled
"Southold Shores at Arshamomaque", conSisting of a .parcel of land
of 34 acres, situated at Greenport, Town of~Southold, Suffolk
-County, New York, and bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the southeasterly line of Main
(State) Road, N. 69° 07' 20" E. 151.91 feet, thence N. 51° 37'
20" E. 154.01 feet along said line from the northwesterly corner
of land of Harold & Frederick Reese; running thence along the
southeasterly line of the Main (State) Road three courses as
follows:- (1) N. 51° 37' 20" E. 419.45 feet; thence (2~ N. 48°
04' 50" E. 230.47 feet; thence (3) N. 27° 46' 00" E. 200.00 feet
to land of Sage; thence along said land of Sage, S. 63° 52' 30"
E. 927.70 feet to the ordinary high water mark of the Boat Basin;
thence in a general southeasterly direction and then in a general
northeasterly.direction along said ordinary high water mark about
1000 feet to land of Fred Young; thence at~ng said land of Fred
Young, S. 20° 08' 40" E. 40 feet to t~e ordinary high water mark
of Peconic Bay; thence in a general_southwesterly direction along
said ordinary high water'mark of'Peconic Bay about 1,750 feet to
a point 250 feet easterly-from the westerly line of land of Harold

& Frederick Reese, measured at right angles thereto$ thence on
a line parallel to and 250 feet easterly from said westerly line
of Harold &'Frederick Reese, N. 13° 15~'00" W. 700 feet, more or
less; thence N. 76° 45' 00" E. 40.0 feet; thence N. 13° 15' 00"
W. 55. tl feet-to the point of beginning.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Wickham, Mr. Moisa, M.r. Grebe,
Mr. Young, and Mr.. Unkelbach.
Mrs. Beatrice Wasson Fechtig appeared before the Planning
Board to discuss her proposed subdivision to be known as "Rollingwood
Estates." M_rs. Fechtig filed an application with the necessary fee
with the Board in January 1961, but has done nothing further. At
this time she stated that it was her understanding that she did not
have to do anything further until after she sold the three lots on
the road andthen when she contemplated selling the interior lots
she should file a subdivision map. The Board agreed with this. Mrs.
Fechtig asked for a further extension of her application and the
Board granted it.
Mr. Wickhamrei~mLed that'he had spoken with Bob Rosa of the
New York State Water'Resources Board relative to a study in this
County and Mr.. Koppelman of the County'Planning Board advised that
they would ask that~Southold Town Be the first to be studied.
Mr. Wickham also spoke with Malcolm Pirenie, Engineers, who
will be in Southold on Friday for a conference, relative to the
water resources survey for-Raymond and May and they will give an
estimate for the job.
Mr. Wickham, atso reported that~hehad received a letter from
the New York S%ateCollege of Agriculture, Cornell University,
Department or'Rural-Sociology, who stated that they would like to
visit Southold Town relative to making a study of the area and
could not do this before the early part of October.
Therewas a brief discussion relative to the proposed bridge
toConnecticut and the Board decided to discuss this further at
the joint meeting wh~h is to follow this meeting at 8:30 P.M.
Meeting adjourned at 8:25 P.M.
