The Chairm~u stated that the legalnotice of hearing was published in
the Long Is!a~nd Tr~e~er-~;~ttituck Watcb~man~ and the S~folk Wee~y Tim~s~
and read the ~fidavits in th~ file indicating that publication was actually

The estimate for the performance bond was discussed as to whether or
not the estimate on the watermains was for Section i and Section Ii or for
just one section. The Chairme~u read a letter of intent from ~?~ry.~ri~onis~
concerning park ~ud playground area for Section It of this s~odivision~

The Chairman read a letter from Robert J. Douglas, concerning ~
Terrace~ Orient~ requesting postponement on the hearing for this subdivision.
Such request grs~ted; hearing set for Ju~ne meeting,
I~. Jack DriscolI ~ppeared before the Board in regard to property
of Martin Weglicki~ located on Fed~nic Bay Blvd~ The Chairman read
a letter of approval of the ros~ds for this proposed subdivisi~n~ The
topography of the property was discussed. It was agreed this property
should be filed in two sections, 5~, Driscoll requested permission to
sell one lot out of this property. Said lot being located on the existing
b~ghway~ It was agreed that ~;~, Driscol! be grouted ~ermission to sell
one lot on the existing highway~ sub3ect to the subdivider filing ~u
application for Section i of this snbdivision; and paying the required
fee for the filing of said subdivision.

~, H, R. Reeve, et al, appeared before the Board for a preliminary
discussion on a subdivision, Bennets Pond. Said subdivision showed 10
lots, It was pointed out that two of the lots were two small and that
lot # 5.does not have sufficient frontage, A discussion was held on
the turnaround, The entrance to this property will be 100 feet wide
and the road will be 50 feet wide. No action was taken on this
subdivision,
Mr, Lark ~d ~.fr. Finger appeared beofre the Board in regard to the
roads in Birch Froperties~ Inc. They requested that the Southold Town
release Birch Propert~e s from the performance bond on the road. ~essrs
Lark and Finger advised the Board of the traffic problem on this road
which they wishe~ to keep as a private road~ and stop speeding cars from
using it as a through-fare, The Cha~m~n advised that this road has not
me~ the requirements of the Superintendent of Highways and that the bond
could not be released until he granted the approval, It was agreed that
~. Lark should approach .?~r, Dean~ Superintendent of Highways and see what
he would required in order for the bond to be released on these roads in
Birch Properties~ Inc.
~. Ed Meyer appeared before ~he Board in regard to lots no, 158~ ~59~
~nd 160 in Nassau Point. l~r. Meyer wishes to divide these three lots into
six lots ~nd sell them. ~, l~eyer was advised that under five lots would
be considered a minor subdivision, No action was taken on this matter
and it was decided to hold it for the next regular meeting,
~4rs. Sal~ud appeared b~ore the Bos~d in regard to divid~ g property
and selling lots. She was advised if she wish to sell only one lot than
she should file a plan showing the one lot she wish to sell. If however,
she intended to continue selling lots she would have to file a~map for
a subdivision.
~, Lee appeared before the Board in regard to his property located
at Laurel Lake~ Laurel, The Chairman advised I~ ~ Lee that the pl~uninG~
Board has received a letter from the State Department of Tr~usportation
advising where the expressway and service roads will be located ~-n relation
to this property; and at this time it may be feasible for ~, Lee to
develope h~s property and have suitable access, A discussion was held on
obtainG access through the property of 3azombek~ however it was reported
this property is ~n the process of being sold, ~gr, Lee was advised that
he should file fo~ a minor subdivision on this property and make the
necessary application to the Planning Board,

>fr. George Ah~ers ~ope~red De_fore the Board in regard to his subdivision
located at Southold. ~¢~. ~%hlers reported ~hat he has obtained prices for
the bulkhead~ug of the canal. Said Canal will be 50 feet wide. The
subdivision will have city w~ter. ~. Ahlers ~as advised to file a new
map showing the 50 foot canal~ A letter from the superintendent of highways
will be required. It was reported that the roads ~re roughed in. Mr.
A/~lers was advised he would have to complete the roads or post a performance
bond.

property ~d ~s. ~wis stated her reasons for not w~ting the property
to ch~e ~ne. A proposal ~s made to split the zone of the property

The Planning Board received from the ~own/the motion to change the following
property:

District the following described property:

particularly bounded and described as follows:
R_~GiNNING at a point on the ordinary high water mark of Shelter
Island Sound~ where said high water mark is intersected by the botuqdary
line bet%veen land of Plock and land of Reydon Shores"~ from said point
of beginning running easterly along said high water m~rk 800 feet~ more

Being and intended to be the aame parcel sho%~ as a '~" zone o~_u the

It was agreed that the Planning Board recommend that no~hing be done
with~this proposal in the immediate future because the Plam~ing Board
believes it is in the best interest of the Tov~ of Southold to zone this
f6r light Industry, and that this application should be held until such
time as there is a light industry classification in the Tov~. It
reported that a great deal of money has been invested in this
for oyster research.
Cassella Builders ~opeared before ~he plarming Board requesting a
further reduction in the landscaped area for the property shopping center
to be located at !~fain Road and Factory Avenue, ~mttituck.
motion by Y~ Moisa~ seconded by ~. Coyle,=it was
P~SO~D that the Southold Tov~ Planning Board recommend that the
application for luther reduction in land scaped area for the ~,~ttituck
Shopping Center be denied.

The Plarauing Board authorized ~Ir. Henry Moisa to sign the map on
Harvest Homes when the Bond estimate has be tel<eh care of.
The next regular meeting of the Southold Town PlanningBoaxd will be
held at 7:30 P.M.~ ~esday~ June ~: 1969: at the Tot~u/ O~fl~e~I'~nRoad,
Southold ~ New York.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 P.M.
