At Mr. Unkelbach~s suggestion the Planning Board discussed
the unsightly condition which exists on Southold Town property
at the south side of Laurel L~e~ Laurel.
On motion of Mr. unkelbach, seconded by Mr. Young, itwas
RESOLVED that a recommendation be forwarded to the Town Board
recommending that steps be taken to correctthe unsightly and dis-
orderly condition which exists on'Southold Town property at the
south side of~Laurel Lake, Laurel. It is the feeling of tte Planning
Board that the Town Board might enter .into a lea~e~with the Mattituck
Park District to maintain this area, and a gat~ be placed at the
entrance to close the road at night to prevent vandalism°
In addition, one of the adjacent property owners is trespassing
on Town property and the Planning Board feels that the erection of
a gate would settle this problem. Further,' there is a question of
the Town being liable in this situation, and the property owner is
building up an equity in the property by using it every day.
The Planning Board considers this matter urgent and recommends
immediate attention to correct this situation.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Wickham, Mr. Young, and Mr.
unkelbach.
