Present: Frederick Andrews, Eric Dantes, Michael Herbert, LeRoy Heyliger, Beth Motschenbacher, Daniel
Sarnowski, John Viterltti, Councilmen Chris Talbot and Phillip Beltz. Excused: Rona Smith, Jeanne Kelly
and John Vahey. Meetin9 began at 5:32 p.m.
Welcome Councilman Talbot and Introductions:
Approval of Minutes: The minutes of June 13,2012 were approved.
Resale of Cottaqes: Two units are for sale, contract near closing for one unit and
contract will be developed for other unit in the fall, however a buyer has been identified.
Follow-up Discussion:
1. Accessory apartment workshop discussion. Meeting was successful in engaging
the public to understand elements of legislation.
2. Town Board work session. Fred reported that discussion with the Town Board was
productive providing the HAC with representation of Town Board member, Chris
Talbot. Dan reiterated the positive discussion with Town Board that yielded an
approval to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for affordable rental housing.
Components for RFP: Dan and Phillip will meet with planning department staffto
discuss developing RFP. Items for consideration are: targeting specific income (less than
$0 % Area Median Income, etc.), HALO zones, adaptive reuse of existing sites,
alternative sanitary systems, near transportation, efficiency, one and two bedrooms.
Micro Apartments: New York City is considering legislation to allow development of
efficiency apartments with total square footage of 300 square feet.
Comprehensive Plan, Human Services Chapter: The draft will be available for the

public s review after July 17 and it contains references to housing. Meetings with the

public are July 24 at 6 p.m. Peconic Lane Com. Ctr and July 25 at 2 p.m at HRC.
Distribution: Newsday 05.03.12, CDCLI and LIHP upcoming developments.
