Reeve Henry Moisa Alfred Grebe Archibald Young MINUTES Southold Town Planning Board January 27, 19~9 A regular meeting of the Southold Town P!amming Board was held on January 277 t919 at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Clerk's Office~ Southold~ New ibrk. Present were: Messrs. John Wick~ham, Chairman~ Alfred Grebe~ Heo~y Moisa~ and Archibald Yourg. Absent: Harold R. Reeve Also present: ~4r. Otto W. Van TuyI On motion of ~. Yo~g~ seconded by }dr. Moisa and unani- mously carried, the Board agreed to hold over the matter of the request o£ Walter C. Grabie~ Mattituck~ N.Y., for an Open Development Area on property located on Deep Hole. Creek~ kno~,m as Lupton's Point. ~ne minutes of the J~uuary 6th meeting~ on motion of Mr. ~ou~g~ seconded by ~. Grebe and unanimousl~ carried, were approved as read. The Board held ~rther discussion on the subject of a proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance limiting sales of migrs~t camps on farms. Eouthold To~n Planning Board -2- January 27~ 19~9 There was considerable discussion held on the matter of the Long Island Expressway~ the future of agriculture in the To~.~ of Southold~ and the acquisition of beach front property by the Town of Southold. A letter dated January 24~ 19~9 wa~ received from the Fishers Island Civic Association~ Francis T. Doyen~ President~ stating that at their last Quarterly meeting the Association felt that a public controlled beach and playground~facilities for children would be very beneficial to the community. ~he Association feels that the Planning Board should look into the matter and advise if the Association can receive any assistance from the Town of Southold. After considerable thought ~ud discussion on this subject m a o~mon was made by ~. Moisa, seconded by Mr. Yo~ug and unani- mously carried whereby it was Rk~0L~'~ that the Planning Board msime the following recommendation to the To~ Board: The Plar~uing Board feets~ on the basis of this letter from the Fishers IslandCivic Association~ the Town Board should m~ke every effort to make available public facilities on Fishers tsland~ not only the South Beach area but also any other interior area on the Island which might be available, such as the te~uis courts. In view of the fact many of our communities have park districts we would like to suggest that the possibility of a park OPerating district be explored with title of the lands resting in the Town of $outhold~ but operation the responsibility of the formed park district. Copy of the above recommendation was forwarded to the Fishers Island Civic Association~ c/o Francis T. poyen~ along with acknowledgementof their letter of January 2~th. ~he next meeting of the Planning Board Will be held at the To~ ~lerk,s 0ffice~ Southold~ New York~ at ~.30 P.M. on Tuesday~ February 17, t9~9~ Meeting adjourned at 9:20 P.M.
