Town Counsel. Operation of exi~tingt~ailer and tourist camps
was discussed with particular reference to maintaining s~e in
conformance with requirements of present Tourist Camp Ordin-
ance. It was decided not to amend the ordin~uce at'this time.
The matter of lebstering on Fishers Island was brought up
for discussion to decidewhether ~ ~mendment should be made
to'the Ordinance permitting lobsteri~g as fish farming
as one sort another. After considerable discussion it was
decided to leave non-conforming uses as is and any new appli-
cants should apply to the Board ef Appeals for a variance
before a~yoperation of this nature is started a~d thereby
have a control over such operations.
The of an amendment to.our Rubbish Burning Ordin-
ance was which has to do with the clearing of
building lets of brush, ~uwanted wood~ disposal
of stumps, etc. Smggestion was made that we require removal
of stumps ~ burning of brush, etc., before a building permit
is issued, not permit burying of ~t~mps and rubbish in
the lot. some discussion it was ~ecid~d this matter
sho~ld be brought up by fire departments and enforced by them
if they wished such an ~_mendment to the Ordinance.
The matter ~ building docks in To~nwa~ers was brought
up for disCUssion with particular reference to the inland waters
of Fishers ~sland. The Supervisor read the Andros Patent which
outlined the territory over which the Town Trustees have juris-
diction and it was decided Fishers Island was not included
within that area and they should apply to the Federal Government
for permits for docks in that area.
No definite ¢onclmsion was reached on regard to single
trailers, i~ Being left strictly to the Town Board te make a
decision on this matter.
