Gentlemen: The ~outhold To~ Pla~uing Board wishes to rePort that they have held 21 meetings this year, 19~9. We have met with the Eouthold Town Board and Board of Appeals on three occasions. Harold R. Reeve~ ~r., M~ttituck, New York, one of the original members of the 8outhold Town Planning Board and also a member of the Eoning Commission resigned from this Board effective May l, 19~9. ~. Reeve was replaced by Mr. William Unkelbach, also of Mattituck. ~. Robert Villa from the guffolk County Health Department met with this Board on June 8th to discuss matters of development of marsh and filled meadow land, touching on the type of sewage disposal field~ dewater- ing~ affect of detergents on the soil and requirements for subdivisions. The Plar~aing Board held a public hearing on August 26, 19~9 in the matter of the adoption of the proposed Rules and Regulations for the ~bdivision of Land in the Town of ~outhold. TheseRules and Regulations became effective August ~l~ 19~9. During thepast year there have been several recom- mendations made to the 8outhold Town Board relative to amendments to the Eoning Ordinance which have not been acted on as yet. We have investigated and m~de rec~.~mendations to the ~outhold Town Board in Cor~uection with eight Open Development Area applications. inn~l Bepor~ to the ~outhold Town Board The Board has held over ~0 informal discussions and taken action on all eases. On December ~thMr. Grebe and Mr. U~elbach, also Mr. Van Tuyl, attended the Zoning Convention held at Patchogue, New York. It was felt a great deal was gained from the convention and those members, as well as the others are looking forward to attending next year. The Planning Board has ~_nvestigated and made recom- mendations to the T~wn Board on 15 change of zone applications. The Building Inspector collected and turned over to the Supervisor $3%0.00 in connection with these applications for change of zone. There has been only one formal application for a subdivision, the fee for which was $~%.00 and was turned over to the ~upervisor by the B*lilding Inspector.
