Carolyn Peabody, Valerie Shelby and Cindy Smith.

Val moves to apProve last months minutes, Mike seconds. Ail are in favor.
SCHOOL REPORTS:
Mattituck- The intramural victims family has been given Jeans name to discuss the
details.
LEGAL: No report
PICNIC':: This information actually came after the meeting but.., date has been changed
to August 11, noon - 4pm due to the fact that we cannot secure tables and chairs from
the town for our originally planned date.
Peter/BBQ
Eleanor and Jean / tent, jump house, tub from American Legion and Brauns
Merle/letters to ministers and merchants- she will contact Linda for mailing to them
Cindy will get an ad in the community news of the Suffolk Times.
Mike/will contact Tim Kelly (Suffolk Times) for an article/picture and bagpipes. He
will also talk to Polywada for Ice, H2o an4 soda price.
Committee meeting planning-Monday -10 am Jane 25, July 2 and July 9 (maybe more
until the picnic).
NEW BUStNES S:
Nadia Portillo has been accepted as a member. We have been unable to contact her. Info
will be given to Loretta.
Lucius reports that the Stop and Frisk march occurred on i 10a~ St -78 th St. (near Mayor
Bloombergs office) 100,000 + attended including NAACP, 1199, National Network and
300 participating organizations.
There is a discussion i. Presidents ruling on immigration/deportation of people under 30.
(maybe political, but it's a good start)
2. Republicans presented to the House doing away with the census bureau.
3. issue of woman not getting equal pay.
There has been an outbreak of swastikas and stone throwing in Brooklyn Jewish
neighborhood (between 13-16 Ave and 43-45 st)
Merle moves and Carolyn seconds that the ABTF write a letter to Mayor Bloomberg
stating that we wouldn't want that type of attitude to exist here, which could prevent
people from going into NYC. All are in favor.
There is a discussion about a gang gesture being in a class picture (1980's). It may still be
there. It wasn't edited and the ABTF believes we should advocate that the gesture be
removed.
There is a motion for meeting to be adjourned at 11.25 made by Val seconded by Peter.
All are in favor. The next meeting is scheduled for July 16, 2012 at town halt.
