LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
MONDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2000 AT 7;30 P.M.
MINUTES
Present were:
Dick Ryan, Noreen McKenna, Joe Krukowski, Reed Jarvis,
Fred Lee, Ray Huntington, Melissa Spire,Marian Sumner
and Francis Deegan.
Cullinane - 19-1-1.2 - There is a scenic easement on this property that
has to be dealt with. It is on hold right now. Melissa spoke with
Ms. Cullinane today. She wants to hold out another 5 acres. Melissa
told her to put it in writing. Melissa will contact and' ask her to come to
the next meeting. Dick told Melissa to tell her that we have already held
a public hearing on this parcel.
Manor Grove - 53-1-1.2 - Appraisal expected next week.
Hubbard parcels - 55-5-11.1, 55-5-11.2, 55-5-11.3 and 55-5-11.4 - A
public hearing to accept the gift of development rights on the above parcels
is set for Tuesday, October 24, 2000.
Neuer-Sutermeister - 56-1-6 - Awaiting name of their lawyer. A survey has
been ordered. Melissa will continue to persue the County for partnership in
this purchase. The Town will want to manage it.
Fred parcel- 56-4-4 - Gift - A public hearing is set for Tuesday, October 24,
2000. to accept this gift.
Doroski - 69-1-1 - Town Attorney sent contract to applicants' attorney.
Blum- 75-5-1 - Awaiting an appraisal.

Simon - 86-1-10.9 - Appraisal has been ordered.
Schreiber - 95-1-4 - Offer has been accepted. Awaiting a map.
Starkie - 96-3-2 - appraisal just received. It will be copied for the members.
Goerler - 96-3-4.1 - Applicant is working on subdivision. The Town Attorney
to set a closing date. LPC needs to review Environmental Site Assessment.
Jenkins - 102-2-2.3 - Is in contract. A survey has been ordered.
Scott - 102-2-23 - Appraisal just received. It will be copied for the members.
$idor - 107-10-6 - Awaiting subdivision approval.
Pollio - 108-1-1.1 - Melissa was told by their attorney that they are willing to
sell the entire parcel (approx. 20.17 acs.). She referred him to the Peconic
Land Trust. Marian Sumner thought it would be a good piece for the Greenways
Program. Marian will take it to the County. It is a project that has a lot of
intricacies.
2% transfer tax exemption - This was discussed in executive session of the Town
Board work session. There will be some action by the next Town Board meeting.
Committee vacancies - Noreen McKenna will be leaving the Committee. She will
send in her letter of resignation.
Karen Meredith, who bought the Dickerson property in Southold (18 acs.) was
going to come to the meeting tonight to ask for permission to erect a building
to store netting.
McGunnigle property - 106-6-14 - Mr. Deegan told the Committee that Mrs.
McGunnigle has offered the property to the naighbors for $625,000. He and
his neighbors would like to see this land preserved. The County may be
interested in some type of partnership. A motion was made by Noreen McKenna
and seconded by Joe Krukowski for Dick to make an offer to Mrs. McGunnigle's
attorney. All were in favor.
Ray Huntington spoke to the Committee about land preservation in Nantucket
and gave them some information on it.
The next meeting for the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for Monday,
October 30, 2000.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
